All Natural Ear Mite Treatment Question

Ive used chemical treatments for ear mites on my cats. But I hate putting chemicals on them. So my question is this, what all natural ear mite treatments have you used on your pets. What ones worked what ones didn't. When we were showing rabbits we were thought to put vegetable oil in the rabbits ears after shows where they might pick up mites from the other rabbits being shown. Our rabbits never did get ear mites. I'm not sure if the vegetable oil worked or we were just lucky that they never caught them. Have you tried the vegetable oil treatment and did it work for you? We were also told that if your rabbits did get mites use peroxide in the ear to loosen the ear crud so that the vegetable oil could get down in the ear to suffocate the ear mites. What do you think about using peroxide in a cat ear to loosen this crud safe or unsafe for them?

I've been told that corn oil kills earmites - never any other kind of oil, and since I won't have corn oil in the house, won't let it touch my skin - nothing I don't know if it has to be corn or other kinds will work - haven't tried it on my cats - but I've got some I can't treat, so....

I'm "call the ambulance" allergic. I expect it will kill me someday.

Vegetable oil will smother mites, and in case the animal gets it on its paws and licks it off, it won't get sick. I've used olive oil, but I suppose any kind of cooking oil would be okay. I don't think that peroxide would be a good idea for cats. Peroxide bubbles when it hits protein substances like blood or ear wax, and the sound and feel of it might freak out a cat. Also, if there's any irritation in the ear, the peroxide will burn for a while.

Ya I bet that a cat would go sorta crazy if you put it in a ear already sore from the mites. could lead to some pretty good scratches too. Since this cat I have now has had chemical treatments that did not work we started the vegetable oil treatment a bit ago and he is not at all happy with me but I've been told to put it in 3x per day. This is going to be an adventure in cat wrestling and i think Im going to lose a lot. He hates me putting it in his ears but at this point Its the only choice

Revolution help. It's not natural, but it's good stuff. Also there is a shot that kills eat mites. Depending on how bad the mites are you may need to treat it several ties.

Chemical treatments for ear mites in cats is not the best way, you are right to seek a natural remedy for getting rid of ear mites. Many OTC ear medicines are really pesticides. We adopted cats and they had ear mites, we used a natural ear mite treatment called Dr Dogs Ear Oil, it worked and it is pesticide and chemical free.
