I have in mind to visit London and Newcastle next summer to visit relatives and friends. I have already visited Kent, Brighton, Canterbury, Lancaster, Blackpool and Lake District. I would like to see new things and visit other places in UK. Which are the places that you recommend me to visit?

I think that you have already seem some lovely places in the UK. I will suggest some new places for you that you might like to go to. You might like to fly into London and spend a week there exploring. Then you could catch a train to York and see the minster and all the old architecture. I would imagine that you would then enjoy a trip from there to the Yorkshire Coast. You could stay for a few days in Scarborough or Whitby. A day trip from one of those towns to a village called Robin Hood Bay would be delightful for you. Next you could go back to York and catch a train to Newcastle where you could see a unusual looking bridge. After a few days there you could catch a bus to Sea Houses. I visited the Farne Islands, Bambergh Castle (by the sea and so picturesque) and the largest tree house in the UK. Wow! Next you could get a train from Newcastle once back there to Chester. There you could walk the Roam Walls and see the old streets. After that you could catch a train via Birmingham to either Stratford Upon Avon (Shakespeare's home) or to Warwick (castle). Then you could catch a train back to London and fly home with some wonderful memories. Good luck planning your trip.

Hello ronaldinu Well I would recommend you come further south of England and visit Stonehenge for one sure thing. Stonehenge is in Wiltshire and is fantastic to visit. Then you have to come to Devon because there are 3 images of much beauty, ellie333, aslanlight and myself of course!!

Sure, you'll have to let us know when you are around and we can see if we can sort something out, might be some fun. We'll have to let p1kef1sh know to because he also lives in England but will travel to Devon to hook up with fellow mylotters! When are you planning to come to the UK next?

In London there is Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Madame Tussauds, London Dungeons, national History Museum that is one of my favourites as it has skeletoms from the dinosaur age, The London Eye, Millenium Dome and The RiverThames...those are a few of the places you can visit there but as I don't live in Newcastle I couldn't tell you about Newcastle...littleowl

Hi ronaldinu, Wow! you've to most places here then I've been, and yet I live over here. You can come and vist Horsham where I live hehe, how about Somerset, it is so beautiful there and you can visit Glastonbuty famous for pop festival and witch crafts, there is a lot of history there, I went there once and enjoyed myself so much that I am saving to go again next year. I hope you will have a nice time when you come over to the U'K. Tamara

There are many places to visit near Newcastle-upon-Tyne, including Lindisfarne Island, Alnwick Castle, Hadrian's Wall, the 'Angel of the North', the historic cities of Durham and York, plus miles of beautiful coast and countryside. From London you can easily go by coach or by train to Oxford, Cambridge, Salisbury, Winchester, Stratford Upon Avon - all of these are worth a visit.

If you're going to be in Newcastle it's a shame to be that far north and not visit Scotland. Glasgow and Edinburgh wouldn't be too difficult to get to from Newcastle and there's lots to do in the cities themselves (they are next to each other so it's not hard to visit both) or you could visit the surrounding areas. I've just visited New Lanark which isn't far from Glasgow. It's a model village and is really pretty as it's on the banks of the river Clyde and there's waterfalls there too. There isn't much in New Lanark by way of nighttime entertainment although there is a hotel with a bar open to non-residents. Alternatively, the town of Lanark is a 25 min walk away and has plenty of bars and restuarants. I would also recommend York in Yorkshire as there plenty to keep you entertained what ever you like doing with historical monuments and museums (the Jorvick Viking Centre is a must) and lots of shopping and eating places. Hope you enjoy your trip, whatever you decide to do.
