YAY... Today is my 2nd Anniversary. We've made it two years!!! Oh course that's two wedded years. Next month will be our dating anniversary. Which means we will have been a couple for five years. I think if you still date after marriage, you should be able to celebrate them both. What do you think?

Hello glords! Congratulations! You two looked very happy in that picture. And as for your question, I guess you have a justification there for celebrating your first date anniversary. Right now, since Boyfriend and I are not yet married, we do celebrate our first date anniversary (and even the half-year, heheh) but I never thought this far or how many we would be celebrating if we do get married. Ps- Don't want to dampen things here, but I just worry that myLot will frown on this discussion because it is somewhat about a "milestone" in life. But you do have a good question there relating to this milestone. Take care.

Oh I thought we weren't allowed to discuss mylot milestones, such as 500 posts. I didn't know we weren't allowed to discuss life milestones. It seems like life milestones are something everyone can relate to, and discuss in detail. Some people hate to celebrate anniversaries... Like its an extra reason to spend money for nothing, other people have many romantic stories to share. I haven't read through the rules about milestones. I guess I should check them out. Do you know where I can find them? Thanks for the congrats and for advice!

http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx (It's the very last don't). But I do agree with your point about a lot of people relating to these life milestones and discussing them in detail. I wonder that myself too because if we're not allowed to talk about it, then it's a big part of our lives we're not talking about. I think the ones they discourage are those that just announce it just for the sake of letting other people know and not actually making it into a discussion. I think yours has a good question though. Some people enjoy celebrating anniversaries (like me and Boyfriend), some frown upon it, considering such celebrations as frivolous, expensive and another Hallmark ploy. Sometimes, Boyfriend and I would go all-out and celebrate and sometimes we'd like to come up with an activity that's free/cheap but we both know we'd enjoy it anyway. Congratulations again, glords!

Any reason to celebrate your love seems like a good idea to me as well, though in these hard economic times perhaps the celebration will just have to consist of a love letter or something like that. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

For some reason marriage is a whole lot harder than dating. Especially when you decide to add children into the mix. Thanks for your congrats. Your words are appreciated. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

That is pretty cool! Did you guys have a good anniversary? My parents have been married 33 years, and maybe that longevity has contributed to their memories, or lack thereof, but I don't think they remember the day of their first date. I know they can tell you where they went, but I don't think even my mom could remember the day, although they would know the year. However, I think it is special to celebrate them both.
