Can you live without your cell phone?

Now-a-days it seems like everybody doesn't matter your age has a cell phone. I remember when they first came out with cell phones and they were as big as a house phone. That was quite some time ago. And what did people do before cell phones. They made new laws about not talking on your cell phone unless your using a headset and not texting while you drive. I think that if your in the car, why can't your call wait till you get home or where ever your going. It seems that people can't get rid of them or even put them down for a second and try and live life without a cell phone. My husband is the same way, and it takes a lot of effort for him to put it down and not use it for like 5 minutes, and when we met it was me who couldn't put it down. It's amazing how attached people get to it, and how much some people pay for phones. I for one could live without it and since I have had kids its not that important to me anymore cause I just don't have time for it. What are your thoughts about cell phones?

I agree. I wish I couldn't always be reached. It's own of the downsides of having a cell phone. Sometimes I just want to be left alone but, as long as I have my cell with me, I am never left alone and there's always someone to talk to.

Well, Of course I could live without my cell phone, but I certainly wouldn't want to. I use my cell phone for everything. I make calls, I text, I use the built in GPS, I send and receive email, I surf the web, I keep track of important dates and appointments, etc, etc. My cell phone is a necessity and I treat it like my personal assistant. Could I live without it? Yes. Would I want to? No.

Oh,now I can not even imagine the life without the cell phone,we should use it everyday to communicate with others.China has the largerest number of cell phone user in the world,so now in China's society, you will find that it is hard to move a step if you did't have one cell phone.Of course there is problem, people are so depend on the cell phone that they storage lots of personal information in their cell phone, once the phone is lost, they should face the threat of the leak of these informations.

i can live without my phone. i don't use it that much anyway. i'm quite lazy so i find i tiresome to keep on texting. i think it's a waste of money too to text about stuff which are not important.

That's the evolution that is happening. I'm assuming you're a kid because of the homework part of your post, and kids are texting more than ever. It's more convenient than calling, and you can text no matter where you are or what you're doing. I spend more time on the phone than you do, but it is usually only when talking to somebody is urgent.

Your like me, sometimes I am downstairs and will leave my phone upstairs and not even realize it's not with me till I go back upstairs, and vice versa. It just seems like everybody nowadays is so dependent on it that they don't realize what people did before they made cell phones. I use mine for emergencies for the car, and to talk long distance, but thats it! I have a house phone for all my other calls. Its kinda inconvenient sometimes especially when you dont' want to talk to anybody and your phone keeps ringing off the hook! Thanks for you comment, glad some more people could live without it!

Yeah your right! It just seems that people got by not using them for so long, even businessmen and now it's like a part of everybodys life! It's kinda of funny but for people to have them is a good thing especially if something happens while driving. That is the main reason I have mine because I have 3 kids and wouldn't want to be stranded somewhere! Thanks for you insight!

I have a cell phone and I have an eleven years old who thinks that he NEEDS a cell phone too. I use mine alot, more than I should or would even like too. I find it easier to text or talk while driving to make better use of my time. I hate to only be doing one thing at a time so this works for me. I like to think that in an emergency my cell phone would come in handy too.

It's definitely a necessary convenience, if that makes sense. I don't absolutely need it, but it is so worth the money paid that I wouldn't go without it. It is so much easier to reach someone by cell phone than by landline or by the internet.

I don't think I could live without my cell phone. I live at school and my parents and siblings call me nearly everyday to talk. I don't have a land-line phone because I don't need one. So it would be very hard to not use it for one day.

Maybe I can live a happier life without my cell phone, but I don't want to verify it. To be honest, cell phone brings much convenience to my daily life, time has been saved. Without cell phone, it will be difficult for other people to find us, also we cannot call others, short messages couldn't be sent. Oh, since I have been used to the life with a cell phone, I can't image a life without it.
