curbside i have.dumpsters you don't want to go in around here.you run the chance of confronting an angry raccoon that was there first.
but we have something called "junk day" around here.people put out all kinds of things they don't want.
but it's pretty much understood local it's a free for all.
and i leave things out for other people myself.i'd rather someone take it and use it than going to the landfill.

My mom sees useful things in dumpsters or right next to it, and takes it :D.
Not only for her use, but if she knows many people who will probably need it (which she does), she'll save it, and whenever she sees them, she'll give it to them.
And we NEVER throw things away that are still useful.
We will either pass them down to family mates in Mexico who don't have much, or we will donate them.
I just donated two garbage bags full of clothes :D

It's odd how people see homeless people as low class citizens because they look in dumpsters and whatever. If you pick something up, you're preventing 1 less thing from getting bought thus saving money. It's a great thing to reuse. As for people who just throw things away, they don't treasure the little things in life.
