Find other parents who are homeschooling and see if they will help you to teach what you're not able to. Frankly, I would say to teach the three Rs and get those down-pat, and the rest of homeschooling will be a piece-of-cake, because you can then get with your twelve-year-old and look things up as a team in order to put the knowledge of the basics to proper use. Again, never hesitate to ask for tips from other homeschooling families.
