hi i was diagnosed in may this year as allergic to dairy, pineapple, coke and almonds and lactose intolereant. ihad a private test done which my doctor does not approve of, so basically im just interested in symptoms other people have and how they deal with them. also how do you stop craving the foods that make you ill? even though it makes me ill sometimes i binge on them still. my reactions are not life threatening although im told one may never know how my body may react, if i eat something it cant handle continuously im worsening the allergy and the body can react in any way. this is quite scary.

Honestly, its more what foods I'm NOT allergic to. Oats, lemons, plums and carrots, and I'm not so sure about carrots any more. What I'm MOST allergic to is corn, to I also don't eat peppers (black or hollow) and avoid grapes. I'm also avoiding shrimp after a couple of reactions last year. I rotate my meats because some of them cause pretty bad reactions if I eat them too often. A book that I had recommended to me by my allergist was "If this is Tuesday, this must be chicken" tho my doctor didn't believe in all the rotation things they did. He felt that beef and sheep, tho both cloved hooved animals could be eaten as different meats, he also didn't feel that you should eat the food more than one meal, where they recommended eating the food the whole day. here is an amazon link to the book: http://www.citizenlink.org/turnsignal/A000008432.cfm

oh my god, poor u, may i ask, wat do u actually eat in a day? my doctor refuses to belive i have an allergy, still proceeds in giving me tablets containing lactose and caffine, even when i tell him they make me ill. i think once ur allergic to one thing it more likely to be allergic to other things, as i was not allergic to almonds when i first had my test done in may, in fact i was eatin them quite a lot. then about 3 months later i started reacting to them. also now i think i may allergic to cocounut milk or coconut i dont know, but the last two times i have ate it i have been ill. i have avoided it for a week now so im gonna habe some soon to just confirm it was that. since my doctor wont test me, i cant afford to keep gettin private tests done so have to depend on my own food elimination and self diagnosis. i might look into this food rotation, thank you for the link.

i dont think i would be able to cope with being allergic to anything else, so if i do this rotation thing, will it make it more likely that i will not become allergic to anything else?

fortunately i am not allergic to any food and i relish eating a variety of foods. though there may be likes and dislikes for some food . i remember my uncle, i mean fathers younger brother is allergic to eggs!! and once he took some pastries when a child which were laced with egg white. he had a horrible time , writhing in pain and having vomitings and all that!!

oh god that sounds awful, my allergist reckons i was born with the dairy allergy but i dont really remember a lot of ill health until i was around 18, so i reckoned it must have developed then. wish i could go back toeating the foods i cant eat now, its amazing how hard it is to avoid food, even when it causes u pain. its like you forget about the pain and ur craving for the food takes over so u just go right ahead and eat it lol. i actually enjoy eating the food but after the pain is so bad i wish i hadnt. i do not seem to be learning from my mistakes
