I am avid reader of books and I have read lot of self-help stuff. But I did not find any book that really helped me. I mean after reading the books you remain motivated but after the time your motivation evaporates. So did you find the self-help books useful in your life?

I like to read certain types of self-help books - Dr. Phil, Joyce Meyer - but I find that I will soon forget what I have read. I find the television programs stick with me better. Keeping the books nearby for reference is the best way to go with them I think. Read the book, but then refer back to it to remind yourself what you read. I'm pretty forgetful.

I dun read, and thus i'm not that interested in those kind of books.. lol =D Self help books are good, but it's not suitabel for everybody, as they will be talking about general terms only, but never in details.. So that, when one is interested in knowing more, they have to buy all the others to make it a whole series and so that they can earn more too.. haha Actually, there are frenz around who can help u too, juts like that they are not professional, but still it's real life experience, rather than relying too much on books till one day, u are over dependent on it, and without them to guide, one will feel lost ^_^ Thus it's up to each individual to think what's best for them and how can it help them in other ways ^_^

for me yes..self-helped books are your last option when getting over with a particular trouble. for example, i own a car and i admit that i don't have much knowledge on automobile, besides driving. one incident happened when i parked my car, then moments later it won't start. good thing i had a self-to-do troubleshooting manual for automobiles. though sometimes, figuring out the main cause of the trouble is difficult even with the assistance of a manual. a self-help book really do the job with it's step by step instructions and possible causes of the trouble. i recommend it when your going on long trips. you don't want to get stranded on an un-chartered place, right?
