did you guys know - Members of the US national Federation of the blind(NFB) are planning to protest the release of Julianne Moore's new movie "Blindness" becuase the film portrays the blind as monster???????????
The movie a adaptation of Jose Saramago's 1995 book of the same name is about a small town which is thrown into social chaos when the residents are hit by a sudden epidemic and go blind!!!!!!
QUITE AN INTRESTING STORY TO WATCH THE MOVIE!!!

I actually watched the movie recently, and I don't see how it portrays the blind as being monsters. They are suddenly stricken blind, and thus do not have the blindness skills necessary to function well in that condition. It's not at all like the blind who have had the proper training in how to cook, clean, walk with a blind cane, etc., and in fact those suddenly-blinded people don't even have blind canes! Those who have had the proper training and walk properly with a blind cane or a guide dog don't tend to have those problems! And, the problems and struggles that are portrayed in the movie are very close to the same problems that I have had with my own vision issues since the Department of Services for the Blind suddenly closed my account and refused to teach me how to live independently with my vision problems. I frankly do not understand the NFB's point.
