If I have to read a book cover to cover, I prefer to read the hard copy of it.
But if it is manuals, or technical books, I prefer the softcopy. Preferably with a search function application where I can search for the things I want to read about.
Otherwise, the hard copy is always better.
Cos when you read a soft copy book, you have to lean forward in your chair and strain your neck and shoulders without knowing. That is till you start to feel the neck aches.
Hard copies, you can sit back and read it. More comfortable.

Hi AhGong, you making a good point, with the search functions, it allow us to have speed reading on the topic we want to. Also, it really hurt once we change the sit position that for few hours we didn't move. So hard copies and hard cover books is always most of people's choice like us.

I am a totally hardcover book person....no ebooks for me. I enjoy the smell of books especally a brand new book. You just can't beat reading from a real book instead of a laptop.

When I am doing some research I often have to read reports and academic articles in pdf format. I find it can be useful for skimming through to find some test results and factual analysis, but for background reading I always prefer to do it in book form. I know I can bookmark webpages but I find it less convenient to revisit something I've read. I prefer having a book and using pieces of paper to marking any pages I want to refer back to.

Hi Paid2write, thanks for sharing. You are correct, is kind of difficult to put remark on .pdf eventhough the tools is there. Me too, i still prefer to have the actual book with me for reading.

I had the habit of reading novels. When it comes to e-books, I can download them in internet for free of cost. But I can't read a book continously for 10 pages, as my eyes strains easily. While we need to read some e-books, we should use some anti-glare glasses and flatron crt monitors. They can reduce the effect. I always loves to read hard cover books only.

Hi Adihindu, i see, you like reading novels. You are correct that readying from monitor really cause the eye strains easily. I would rather print out instead of using those anti-glare glasses. Thanks for sharing.
