Does anyone make their Christmas Gifts? What do you make?

Last year I made all of mine cause I was broke. This year I want to do the same, but I don't know what to make. My oven doesn't work so I can't bake. Anybody have any good ideas? I don't really sew or knit or crochet either.
Last year I made Christmas ornaments with pictures of my neices and nephews etc, in them. It was great. you just print your photos on velum paper which is mostly see through so you get the image on both sides, then you insert it in a glass ball ornament. That's the tricy part. you have to play with the size to get it right. Looks fabulous when you're done though. I made dozens of them. I got the ornaments at the dollar store so I really saved a bundle. And - everyone loved their gifts!

I love doing craft projects, but I am so bad at them. I have all of these creative ideas, lol but they never turn out right. That is what is nice about being a parent. My daughter is four and loves to do crafts. Last year we did and we intend to do the same this year. I help her make stuff for family, usually homemade picture frames, pencil holders and so forth. Since it is coming from my daughter, it isn't supposed to be perfect. In fact, that is what makes a homemade gift perfect.

You are absolutely right! It's just too bad my kids are teenagers now and they refuse to do craft projects with me anymore.

What I would do is go to a craft show and see what ideas others have come up with. You might be able to see some homemade crafts there that you would be able to whip up yourself.
I always like to make giftbaskets too. I usually pick up things all year long when I see things on clearance and then put baskets together for teachers and neighbors.

Thanks, that's a great idea! I'll have to watch the paper for shows. I haven't bought as many clearance items this year as I did last year, so gift baskets could be tough. But I do have beautiful Christmas mugs I got half off now that I think about it. Thanks for reminding me.
