I am a hairstylist that works in my home does that count?
I just tell people that I do hair or that I do my own and they usually ask what my prices are like and once they hear that I charge less than the salons I usually have them come over for something to be done for them.
This is probably not what you are asking for though.

No but that counts! I wanted to go to cosmetologyschool for makeup/skin but I'm so plain - I thought "no one would want to get make up done from someone who doesn't wear any!" But I remember going to this cooky hairdresser who had her own shop and she would take almost 4 hours doing my hair because she would stop to eat and take breaks and gossip whatever but she had albert einstein hair. She was talented tho! Thanks for the response - and that's the most legit job yet :)

You do not have to be a glamour goddess to do hair. You just have to be able to figure out what the person is asking for from their description. That is where the talent lies. About 95% of the people I do usually have a very good idea of what they want you just have to transfer what they are saying to their hair. I ask a ton of questions to make sure I know exactly what they want before I proceed. Even if I know the person because that way there is not mixup. From your piture you look you care about your looks a lot more than some of the girls I have worked with in the past.
Maybe you can look into courses on hairstyling in your region and then you can work from home. It's a great business to be your own boss, set your own hours and rates. When my kids were young they would sit in the high chair or playpen while I did hair. Now my daughter helps me do peoples hair. She also does her own quite a bit. I mix the colours like purple, auburn or brunette and yes I said purple, and she applies it to her own hair. She has been watching me do hair her whole life so she has had an excellent apprenticeship. She wants to be a photojournalist though and not a stylist.
Thanks for the best response as well.

I feel your pain. I have been looking for the past year for a great work at home job and opportunity but I have not really found anything. If I find anything I will let you know. I am sorry I could not contribute.
