Do you REVIEW your posts before submitting it as a response or discussion???

I have read the FAQ's early this morning and I just found out that there is no way we can edit our responses nor our discussions. The edit option is only available when you haven't submitted your post yet. The preview button at the bottom of the screen when you start a response or a new discussion allows us to review our post before submitting it. Once submission has been done, it would remain as is. I do read everything first several times before submitting it as a response or as a discussion. But sometimes, I still commit some mistakes. Either typographical error or missing words. How about you MyLotters? Do you review your post before submitting it or you just hit the start discussion button or the submit response button immediately?

I'm lazy too. hehehe. But as much as my laziness is trying to prevent me from reading my posts before submitting it, still my obsessive compulsive disorder is winning. I can't just post a response or a discussion without reading them several times. It's a disorder! And even if I try not to, it's hard. What I do is just minimize reading it over and over again before posting. Poor me! Thanks for sharing. God Bless You!

Well, as I've said time and again that as long as you have conveyed what you are trying to point out then there's no problem. I thought of sharing this discussion for those who always inquire about editing their discussions. It's just so happen that I came across this topic on the FAQ's and thought of sharing it here. Have a great day! God Bless You!

Yeah, it's funny though that after reading it all over again, when you posted it and read it, there are still errors. I guess that's the use of proofreaders and copywriters. It says in an article about writing that you need someone to read your article to double check it, because our eyes are accustomed to the words that we want to read. But then that's not exactly what we typed. What we read was what on our minds. So if you want a perfect comment/message, you need somebody else to recheck it for you. Otherwise, let it be. Just as long your message comes across... ^^v no worries!

I agree with you since there are many discussions to go to in one day, sometimes we tend to rush a bit to have more post in a day. While we rush posting, we often overlook our post while reviewing and the result is yet another errors be it in grammar or in spelling(I hope that we can edit our post coz its embarassing to leave something with errors for the view of the whole network).

Let's hire proofreaders then. . Thanks for sharing the fact about our eyes getting accustomed to what we are reading since our brain perceived it as something we want to read. This is very interesting. Can you share me the link to this article? I would want to read more about this stuff. I started this discussion because I kept on reading complaints about not being able to edit their discussions. So I thought of sharing what I have learned from reading the FAQ"s. God Bless You!

I'm glad you like what I said, unfortunately, I read that article long ago, and I don't have the copy of the link. I'll try to search for it again and get back to you once I get hold of it. I want to read it again also to refresh my memory so I can share it to others as well. I just hope my memory serves me right. ^^v

I don't review my posts before posting them. Or if I do, it is rare. I know there is a guideline on never to make a fuzz about wrong spellings so I think it is ok to make mistakes. Have a nice day!

As long as you don't complain about how to edit your discussions I guess it's fine. The purpose is to make your point across and as long you are successful on that I don't think not reviewing your post before posting would affect you. If it's perfectly working for you then it's fine. Good for you. I've created this discussion because a lot of members have been complaining about not being able to edit their discussion so I thought of sharing what's written in the FAQ's. Thanks for dropping by richiem. God bless you!

Hi potrish! There are times that I'll just post it right away especially if I'm doing something at the same time! And sometimes I try to read it again before posting it. But most of the time once I posted I will see some few words are missing apart from having typos! Thanks!

Hi Cjay77, glad to see you here. I have an obsessive compulsive personality disorder. It didn't escape me even in posting here at MyLot. I have this tendency to focus on perfection. With this, I tend read several times before posting. Like 3-7 times. Weird isn't it? I don't know how to cure this disorder really. Anyway, thanks for dropping by! God bless you!

i don't review my posts but i make sure that while i'm typing, i type it correctly though there may be times where i notice a typo-error right after i have pressed "post response". lol. that's okay i guess. people still understand even with the errors and missing words around.=D

I think it's good enough that you review them as you type. At least you get to correct the errors immediately. Just like you, there are times that I would notice a typo error after I have pressed the post response button. lol. As long as people understands what we are trying to convey then it's fine. But it would be better though if we have no errors at all, right? Happy posting marshiemallows. God Bless You!

Sometimes we are in a hurry to post and hoping to post a lot in a day that we tend to forget to review our post. As long as we get our point across then I think it's just fine to commit simple errors. I've created this discussion for those who always asks if there's an edit option for discussions. And I was reading the FAQ's one time and saw an answer to that query so I thought of sharing it here. Thanks for posting here subha12. God bless you!

Hi there potrish78! I always review my posts before submitting it as a response or discussion. This is because I know that an edit option is NOT available once our posts get submitted. There are times though when I do not review anymore as I do the reviewing while I am actually typing. It saves me time and effort. Still, it pays off to review our posts before submitting.

Glad to know that dolce_vita78. The reason why I started this discussion is because a lot of people have been asking for ways on how to edit either their started discussion or response. I thought of sharing it for everybody to know. I make it a point to review my post as I type it and review it again before posting. This helped me minimize my errors. Thanks for dropping by dolce_vita78. Take care! God Bless You!

This is one of my pet peeves with MyLot. I usually try to review what I write before posting. But, without fail, I almost always miss a typo or I forget something that I wanted to say. I strongly believe that editing after posting should definitely be permitted, but only by the person making the post. Happy MyLotting....

That really is a great suggestion browisn. But I don't think they are likely to change this anytime soon. I wanted this option to be available too since it would be a lot helpful in correcting our typing mistakes like wrong spellings, wrong grammars, missing words and typo errors. But until MyLot approves of it, let's try our best to review our posts before submitting it for less errors. God Bless You browisn.

Yes I do proof the discussions more than once. Sometimes I forget on the responses though because I am usually multitasking. Either way, it seems I still slip up with type errors and such at times.

Yes. I do use preview of my responses. I even do spelling checks. This is because i am not so good in English. So to reduce my errors i used to do that. Keeping in mind the rules of mylot i am responding to the discussions. So i am very much sure that i will not go against TOS. But i read my discussions twice before posting.

No, I am not reviewing any of my posted response on any of the discussion and most of the time I am just writing everything I would like to put as my response to all of my friends discussion most of the time...but if it is my discussion that I wanted to post I always make it sure to read it first before I would have to post it into a discussion.

I often review my response before i post my opinion about certain discussion that i participated. But there are times when im rushing and i need to meet the deadline so i will make it to the payout ,that i dont have much time anymore to review my responsed. So i just right away send it and realized later on i have type error lol. But it does not happen to me so often since i am careful most of the time when im posting my answer.

Great to know that belk89. Hehehehe. I do have this goals everyday too. I'm trying to stick to it to be able to reach payout. Although it took me a month and three weeks to reach the minimum payout. But I'm glad to know that you are reviewing your post first before submitting it. Thanks for dropping by. God bless you!

I read mine over and over also. I didn't think there was a way to edit anything after being here after a week or so. After that I decided to make sure things look good before I submit it. A few times I typed a word in a word document just to see if I spelled it right. Sometimes after I submit it, I can still find errors and I wish I could fix them. It just bothers me for some reason.

That's a habit I'm trying really hard to acquire. I'm having computer problems that sometimes leave out letters or whole words. Of course, that can change the meaning of a post completely! When I use th computer at work (now!), the smaller keyboard and my long nails can cause some very weird things to type out, too. I've heard a habit is acquired after 21 repetitions. I hope that's true, and that I can remember to do ir 21 times!
