Think it's time to just walk away?

Well I went did it again... FELL IN LOVE. It don't happen too often but when it does I go in full force and I guess that's my mistake. We've been together for over a year and currently still live together. I love him so much but I think were drifting. It seems no matter what I do to make him happy, he still has something to snarl at me about. It's getting a little old now and i'm getting tired of trying to fix things when all he does is crawl into his little shell when I try to talk to him. We still have alot of good days in between the spats and I don't want to let him go but with each spat it just gets easier and easier to just turn my back on him and keep right on walking. He still shows his love in alot of ways and is sincere, we've talked about marriage and spending the rest of our lives together but lately things are not going right. Is anyone at this point in thier relationship? If so can you give me some advice as to what I should do to get him to open up to me? Give me ideas please!
