Reading discussions can lead to writing discussions.

I'm new here and spend a lot of time going through the list of new discussions. I do it to find something to respond to as well as to maybe pick up a friend or two. I've just discovered that reading discussions can also lead to an idea to write one. Like today. I responded to a discussion about cats and music. My avatar is a picture of a cat that looks a lot like mine listening to heavy metal music. He listens to it because I do and I do because it drives my wife right up the wall. Which is a good thing because she can be a real cat a lot of the time and heavy metal music blocks out the sound of her voice. So it occurred to me. Do you ever wish you could have "declawed" your wife when you got married like I wish I had been able to do, just to keep the catty comments out of your marriage? If you're a woman and want to respond, pretend your husband is a Tom cat.:)

hi, you really have a nice idea there. Well, as of now, I'm still currently engaged but I'm beginning to relate with the married life situation. My fiancee and I have strong personalities and along the way, we would always have clashes of conflicting ideas which result to arguments. I would usually annoy her to the point that she blow up and start leaving me alone. But of course I follow her after a while and give her a big warm hug. If she were a cat, I would have given her lots of scratching posts to scratch her claws on until they lose their sharpness haha!

But I think it's no good if one couple has the character it's too boring when one has an idea the other always says yes. Conflicts can be good memories after years when you recall them there will be so much fun of you.Wish you have a pleasant marriage.

You both have good ideas. I especially like the scratching post one. I suppose it's not too late for that for my wife.:) I do agree too that a real good argument can be fun to look back on, especially if it was about something rather mundane. But you need to have a sense of humor for that don't you? Sadly, my wife has no sense of humor at all.:(

Reading discussions could really lead into you wriiting new discussions yourself.Anyways, that is not my concern now.I am concern with you and your wife. Why dont you try talking things out.Like what mature adults should do.No offense meant but i do believe that communication is the key for the two of you to eget along.I have read about your previous discussions, the one you being left by your wife.Broken families are really not a pleasant thing to have.try exerting more effort to fix things.it may just workout. Anyways, happy mylotting. Have a nice day.

If exerting all kinds of effort over 25 years hasn't done the trick, I'm afraid nothing will. The wife just doesn't like being a wife anymore I guess. We don't have kids, only the cat and he's already made it clear where his loyalty lies - with me. The wife never liked the cat much either so that's a no brainer. Some things just aren't meant to last.:(

Dumb me. I posted an answer to you in the response above. Still learning the ropes here. I bought two new scratching posts today. So far the wife has ignored both. The cat however has peed on them both. Go figure.
