Well, borned and bred here, I never really notice it much.
Think of it as a kind of local dialect. Something which many singaporeans can relate to.
Why do you find it irritating leh?
It is still a language that can be understooded by both locals and foreigners alike wat. No?
I mean, when I go to places where I do not speak the language, I find that more irritating cos I cannot communicate what I want or need with them.
But with singlish, well, anything also can. As long as you can speak that little bit of english, can liow. No?
Don't tell me you find it so difficult to understand all singaporeans when you were here. Don't like that leh. I never find your language irritating. Why must you pick on mine leh?

Well they do have a funny way of speaking English. I think it has to do with the number of Indians in that country. Or possibly their history. I don't know. But I don't think it's irritating. As long as we can understand each other then that's fine. I just don't want to end up with the same accent! Haha!

Hi, not been to Singapore but I know what you mean. We have also in the Philippines our own version of English with mix languages and dialects. It's never irritating because everybody talks that way except of course when it's so overboard. English speaking people maybe will find it amusing. They can hear words they can relate to but seem too they can't LOL
