I'm thinking Phillies and Rays. My husband's a sox fan... he's hoping that they could pull it off. What do you think?

where's your husband from. Im a redsox fan from ny for the last 10yrs now. I don't think boston is going to make it this year. I haven't checked the score yet but I'm pretty sure they lost tuesday nights game. Once I found out Tim Wakefield was pithcing I knew it was over. Not making excuses, but the sox pitching staff isn't strong. Their bullpen sucked this year and Josh Becket isn' t healthy. Big papi, Jacoby Ellsbury, and Kevin Yukolis all have one hit betwenn them in the Tampa bay series last time I checked. Plus papi hasn't been right all year. Mike lowell is also out hurt, and JD drew just came back from the injured list. But these are not excuses I'm making for boston, they did win 95 games this year. I didn't expect them to get past the angels. I'm not disapointed that the sox won't be repeating a return to the world series. You can't be a spoiled little brat like these yankee fans and expect to win every year. Tell your husband to do like me and pack up his redsox gear and get ready for the 2009 season.

We're both in NY ... however I'm a Yankee fan I don't know how we ended up lol. I did watch a bit of Tuesdays game It was sad ... but they may pull it off. Tim Wakefield ... wtf?! The Rays are hungry for it but I think the Sox are too with everything they went through. My husband has his sox hat waiting (he doesn't put it on until they win the ALCS lol.

I'min queens. where are you from? I became a redsox fan because of Nomar Garciapparra,if that's how you spell his last name. I wanted the redsox and dodgers to meet in the world series for 2 reasons. I've been waiting for an interleague regular season game between the 2 teams so nomar could go back to fenway and let the fans give him a standin ovation, since he never really got a real goodbye from the fans when he got trade. But since the people who schedule these interleague games are idiots, the games between the national league and american league teams over the last few years have sucked. They should have teams like the yankees and redsox go to wrigley field and play the cubs. I've been waiting for boston to play at shea stadium forever. They should have the historic teams play at historic ballparks, like wrigley field. The other reason I wanted the dodgers and redsox to meet, is to give the fans to boo t5he hell out of Manny Ramirez, and also to see him get nailed in the face by a wild pitch..on purpose!!! That of course would've been the one game in the world series where I signed a one day contract with the redsox to pitch..lol

Right now Tampa has it under control but must be ready to deliver the final blow. I do not understand why the Rays/Red Sox game isn't being played today. If they are in the same location, I would think they would play on that day. The Phillies have the Dodgers right at the point of pressure. Both are not looking to be strong enough to go through to the next round. However, I should note that it isn't over until it is over.
I think Fox wanted it to be Red Sox and Dodgers but it's looking like that dream could get shattered and it wouldn't be the 1st one. The most recent one was 2003 with it being the Red Sox and the Cubs but neither made it. Don't know if history is going to repeat itself but it does look that way.
