thats a good queastion. nowadays people get picked on for just yelling at their child for doing something wrong. jsut be carefull. depending on their maturity between 8-11.

i agree with you these days with the laws and other people that cant keep there nose out of other peoples business someone will call HRS on you for threatning to spank your child. also i let my kids stay home once just for a short while and he was 13 they accidently dialed 911 or he said and got into alot of trouble for that.

I am trying to find out what the law is. I have a friend that has a 9 year old and a 6 year and sometimes he can't find someone to watch his children after school. They come home and stay indoors until he gets home between 5:45 and 6:00 pm. But somebody called child wellfare on him and I am trying to find out if he is doing wrong by law.

the normal age is about 13, but it depends on how responsible the child is and well the parents raised that child and prepared him or her to be able to handle emergencies. If you have a good raport with your child and an open relationship to be able to talk about anything and explain to make that child understand the pros and cons then you can be able to trust them enough to stay alone at home.

It depends on the state.... you will need to check your state laws.

old enough to call the police, and make themselvse something to eat. this varies from child to child.. so it could be anywhere from 8 to 18 depending on how responsible they are. its up to how you raise your kids.
