or wanting to do so, but just not sure where to start, and if others would be interested in buying it as well? I know for me, this has always been my Dream. I have wanted to be a Published author for many yrs. now. I have considered even compiling some of my short stories and such and making it into one Book as well. The only thing is lack of experience, and being scare for Fear of rejection. But what I have learned and enjoy is finding sites online that accept small writings of mine and I can earn Extra $$ from, that will help entice me to finally make that next step towards the Published author I would Love to be as well. So for now I just continue to submit things hoping for the best until that one day I can finally sit back and show off the checks coming in, and say it has been worth it as well. So what about you, and if not, what has scared you away from achieving that Dream as well? ~~TINA~~

I write articles and plan to compile some of them into a book eventually. I also join NaNoWriMo every couple of years and try to get a novel written. I've done it twice so far, but haven't finished. I hope to complete one this year since I finally have a good plot. Why don't you take a look at the site? It might give you the inspiration to get started on something big. It's nanowrimo.org. The idea is to write a 50,000 word novel during November. It's a lot of fun, and it's free.

I have heard of this site, but have never tried it yet. Right now my time is so limited is why I have not been even submitting my Articles I have wrote even to Associated Content even. But maybe I should check out this site anyway, and see if I should consider it for January when things seem to Slow down some.

Yes I have wanted to be a published author and actually have had some poetry published. I am also finished with 4 children's books and now the art work is being done. I write for online sites 1000 things to do. I am paid or that $15 per article and for a couple other places. I have a lot of stories and cross many genre's in my writing. I have an adult fantasy I am working on and have stories from my grandma, dad, my own, my children and now my grand-childrens, adventures, escapades and more. I have another one I am working on that is a western. And one that is historical early man in the USA. Those are a few I have in varied stages of works. Celanith my name on here is one of the heroines in my Adult Fantasy. I do have the manuscript I was co-authoring with Robert Franklin Leslie before he had a mmassive stoke and should finish it as it was nearly done. He had over 15 books published. He was a very good friend of mine and my mentor. He wrote The 1980's movie "The Bear's and I" He wrote "Wild Pets" in which my childhood family story is in part of that book. That is how I met him. He wrote "Ringo the Robber Raccoon" and Lorenzo the Magnificant" He wrote others to but those are a few he wrote and he and I were in the process of co-author in "The Secret in Gramdma's Attic" When he had his stroke back in 1988. He had the unfinished manuscript sent to me. So yes I do want to be published and I am going to put some of my stories on CD's and my husband a school teacher is going to help me. Got lots of plans and dreams. I am young yet LOL only 59. :)

I haven't written a book. I don't like writing. But I have edited more than a thousand articles. It's my job. I am a copy editor.

Keep trying to write a book. Have lost count the amount of times I have tried to get comfy and settled to begin my story. The problem is I often don't know where to begin or how the ending going to happen. Always find I have writers block even before i've picked up the pen or typed out the title on the computer. In order to write a best selling book you also have to know your genre...for example in a novel you would need believeable, easy to relate to characters where in a non-fiction book your facts would have to be researched thoroughly to ensure your facts are 100 percent correct before discussing them on paper. Because of these things I have mentioned above I like you often write pieces for the internet and post them where they will be seen and I can make a little extra money out of them. I would still very much like to write a novel i'm just waiting for the light bulb in my head to switch on. I must admit I did go through a phase of writing short stories and sending them into magazine...only for them to be rejected as many magazines have such a large volume of stories and find it impossible to publish them all.

When I was in 6th grade each one of us in our English class wrote a book. I wrote an ABC book. Lately I've been looking for it because I want to show and read it to my daughter. I'm not good at writing stories, so I'll just stick to reading them. Go for it Tina! Go ahead and write a book if thats your dream.

I've never written one, but I want to. I have a wonderful idea in my head for a children's book. The problem is I just don't know how to get started. So for now its just an idea.

I have written two, a novel based on neo-Paganism, and a non-fiction also about neo-Paganism. Neither were published, although I did have a publisher for the novel. The trouble was the book covered an entire sytem of which polyamorous sexuality was one element, along with moral economics, environmental practices, radical education theories, communal living and co-operative economics, and so on, plus, of course, neo-Pagan spirituality. The publisher wanted me to dump everything but - hah hah, gues what? I told him to go and do some anatomically impossible things with himself. So, I can't advise you how to sell what you write, but keep it up, it's good for you even if you never sell a thing. Lash

Well, I love to write and would love to be a published author. There're plenty of place that will publish your book online. One of them is Amazon.com. There are so many place you can research it. They will publish for free on amazon and make commission off of you. Don't be afraid of rejections. You'll get it published. Go for it.

I just finished writing my first mystery novel and am in the rewrite process. We all fear rejection but you should think of that as a learning process. I don't think that any published author started off selling their first book. One of the quotes that I have hanging up over my work space is "A professional author is an amateur who didn't quit." In terms of experience, you probably have more than you think that you have. Write about what you know. Good luck

Yes.I do want to write a book. In fact there was one of the so called spam mails from one Trafford Publishing, who help self-publishing authors, of course for a price. The advantage they claim is, you could publish in limited quantities too without investing sky-high money,or shortsell copyrights to established publishers or so they would have you believe. I registerd a title for my book too. But suddenly my wife became my competitor to writing a book, in that she had a manuscript ready and she "commanded" me to go ahead inputting her manuscript into a Wordfile, edit it and do the necessary DTP work and my work had to be relegated to the background. I hope I can benefit from this discussion.

In 2005 I wrote and self published a book of Danish recipes, in English. The book is in english, but the title is Danish (Tak For Mad translates to Thanks for the food). My sister came up with the title, and the book was written in loving memory of my danish grandmother (Mormor meaning Mom's Mom in Danish) who passed away in 2004.

very much so. i don't really have compilations of my writings but my love for books propells me to write one. but it is a giant endeavor since the work involved is too much for me to tackle right now. i think i need more education in creative writing. how i wish i could write a fantastic fiction. even with a simple theme as long as it contains a lot of sense and can inspire other people. i wish someday i can go back to school and pursue creative writing. that's why i'm always scouring the internet for writing opportunities to gain experience and some cash as well. i remember during my college days, i've written poems, kinda amateurish but it made me really proud of what i've done. for me, it's a huge accomplishment.

i love books. when i was a teen, i was inspired by a Filipino author to write a book about myself. he did write a good one about himself, his experiences and made big things about the changes in our country. his name is Bob Ong. after i read his book, i started writing a book about me and my social, emotional, and some other experiences. i was able to finish it at my 2nd year of high school but i planned to continue writing it until i finish college. now i'm done with college and i haven't touched the text again. you know what drove me to not finish it? my computer got broken and my files were erased. i got a copy of my writings but then, when i think about it now, i feel like it's all trash. i mean, i want to write something that my sons and daughter and grandchildren could read and learn from. but you know what, i think the laziness has struck on me that much that i just didn't have the feel of finishing it. i've always wanted to. maybe someday.

I have completed 2 novels and am working on my third. So far I have had no luck with getting either of the darned things published, in spite of trying 20 plus agents and publishing houses. I have read that it is very rare for an unknown writer to find an agent or publisher.
