i earned my first salary working as a temporary worker in a construction line. it was hard work working 6 days in the sun in 1987. i was paid about $400 and it was a lot to a high school kid. i remembered treating my parents to a dinner at Pizza Hut and buying myself a Sony walkman. it was money hard earned but well spent in my opinion and since then, i always find work during school holiday and tried to buy things that i wanted without spending my parents money. i find that in this way i would cherish my things more as i bought them with my own money. how about you? how did you spent your 1st paycheck?

the first time i received my money from all the online stuff, i treated my family for dinner and i bought new clothes for myself. it was really a coincidence that the mall we went to was having a sale and good thing i just received my pay. i bought like 4 new outfits and i was really happy that day.=D

yes. the feeling of spending your own hard earned money is definitely different from spending your parents' money or others. we would go all out to maximise our money to make it worthwhile while we would not blink an eyelid while spending money belonging to otherrs....haha

As I recall, my first check was at 16, it was from KFC and I was working during the school year from 5 to 10 so it was only like $200 at 5.15 an hour. I opened a checking account with it.
Then I bought a lot of fast food, which was a huge treat for me... and I think I bought a shirt or something lol.

fun, wasn't it to work during school days. when u recieved your salary, dun you feel yourself richer compared to your school mates and u are able to spend more and buy things that you liked? i always find working back then as a show of maturity and gaining experience something which i will never pick up in school
