I was rised by my Great Grandmother. And I never heard a cruss word come out of her mouth. But she would use other words, like fiddle sticks, or I'll be John Brown, and I guess her favorite was flider, (well flider). I always thought it ment sh*t. But todays woman has no trouble using the same words a man will use. I guess it is progest, baby you're come a long way. She would jump on a grow man if he crussed in her house. When my dad and grndad would take us boys fishing or something like that, it was MF that, and F this, and sometimes they might even let one of us boys slip a sh*t or d*mn in, without a slap up side the head. But when they return home you didn't hear those words come out of their mouth. Years later I asked my dad, why he wouldn't cruss around Grandma, I said were you afaird. And he said son it a thing called respect, and yes I was afraid. I know now a days it just rolls out of my mouth. There are a couple of phrases I use in everday talk like, if I see someone that has been drinking,or is high in some way, I'll say, he/she is F*cked up as a football bat, or if I'm working on something and can't get a bolt out or some part off, I'll say, C*m bleed or blister, I spit on you my last time.Reminds me of a funny story. Two brothers were in the yard playing before dinner, They were about 11 or 12 years old, and the older brother said I think it's time we started crussing around dad, and the younger boy agreed. So they plan to start crussing around their dad that night at the dinner table. so they all sat down to dinner and said grace. The father saked the older boy what he wanted, he said pass me them f*cking peas. Well the father just reached across the table and back handed him on the floor. The father look at the younger boy and said, well what do you want, the little boy said I don't know, but I sure don't want none of those f*ucking peas.

I know what your saying...I can't ever remember my Dad or Grandpa or any other man ever swearing around my Grandma's. It just wasn't done. These days it seems like even little kids are swearing up a storm. I try to watch my language but do occasionally use sh*t and d*mn...not very nice for a lady...I'll have to work more on it.

lol thats a good joke!
respect for your elders and how to act around a lady..have pretty much gone to the wind in the younger generation, not to mention general etiquette and plain old manners!
it sure seems like most parents these days dont even bother to try and teach these things..though they are IMPORTANT! well i think they are at least. i do tend to be a "potty mouth" at times..especially if talking to friends or my sister..or for that matter when ive gotten mad or burned myself or something lol! then i cuss like a sailor, i will admit.
but when it comes to being around my grandmother, or anyone of that over 60 age..i try very hard not to use foul language. it is a matter of respect, since they are both my elders and ladies. a proper lady wont put up with that kind of talk, when perfectly reasonable alternatives can be used to express your frustration etc, without singeing someones ears lol!
but damn if it isnt just plain fun sometimes to run your mouth like a truck driver in the dog house!! LMAO!
