was with her when she bought it. She's long gone now. I feel close to her when I sit there. I feel at peace when I glide forward and back. Yesterday I looked around and thought:
Today, may be the last 70 degree day we have. The balmy fall slipping into cooler weather. The warmth of the sun against my face, the air that is just right. Just today.
Today, the leaves on the trees, the yellows, the oranges, the reds against the permanent green ones. The wind blowing many off. They swirl and glide, then fall. Today some trees have colorful leaves. The way the wind is blowing, soon there won't be any leaves on those trees. But today, today there is all this.
Today is a day that if I died and every day was like today, it would truly be heaven. Heaven, today, just today, only today.

Sounds like you had a very peaceful day yesterday. The weather here was also beautiful yesterday. I see the leaves on our tree in front of the house are just beginning to turn orange on the tips only. Trees across the street have orange and red leaves and many have fallen on the grass. Showers predicted for later this afternoon and early this evening. We need the rain again.

Loved the post, by the way. It was very poetic and nostalgic.

You are lucky to have the glider swing. It sounds like a very special gift to possess. Your description of the autumn leaves falling was lovely. How fantastic you got to just sit and watch them. The best of life is truly the collections of experiences when we notice such things.

It's moments like that when I don't begrudge having more work, until I see bills I may not be able to pay on time. Yes, it truly is a special gift.
Yes, it truly was a special day. Wish I had a decent working videocamera. It was cool. Maybe next year or when I retire. Thanks and take care.

Yeah, the fall version of stop and smell the roses. Make sure you do make time and I hope you feel inspired to write about it, too. Take care.

Hi... I'm visiting today, and will be here more in the future.
Things are finally settling down for me... what a relief!
I have a wood and cast iron 'park bench' my Pop left me, and I
feel such a sense of peace, of being with him, when I sit there.
I have to put it away for the winter, but it was a sweet summer!

I love those wood and cast iron benches. Neat. Glad you find peace of being with him. Glad you'll be here more. Missed you.
