I have two antivirus at my computer too but I don't think it's good because it slow down my computer perfomance a lot. I wish to uninstall one of it but just can't figure out how. It's the Sysmantec Antivirus which always pop out suddenly to request for scanning my computer.

Kaspersky and Avira are the Top 3... and you shouldn't trust McAfee, it produce viruses itself... to which only it's own software can cure... the first two which I had mention was the best one, if you buy the original version... the downloaded or pirated version doesn't work as efficient as the original one...

Most of anti-virus software do not allow to have another anti-virus program running. so you have to uninstalled the first one. An anti-virus program contains the list of virus names and definition. So, i think that it is not a good idea to have two anti-virus software running. It might corrupt some of your useful files. So better use only one anti-virus which is good enough to detect most of the dangerousr viruses.

ya, using antivirus to pc is very good ..
with some good antivirus softwares no need to defragment the system by your self , no need to remove malicious softwares and so on....these all things are done by the antiviruses only and it saves our lot of time...so using antivirus is very good..

I would suggest you to use only one antivirus on your laptop, to experience a better performance.

It is Never a good idea to have more then one antivirus program running at any given time. Antivirus programs trying to scan/fix the same file at the same time may render the file unusable/corrupt. Keep one program as your always on background scanner and the other for ondemand/second opinions of suspect files as well as a regular system scan. Be sure to completely disable one before running the other.

Nope because it will crash your system if they are 2 antivirus if your installing high performace antivirus. Usually Kaspersky and bitdefender removes any antivirus detected in your system when installing them. I prefer Mcafee Total Protection 2008, Bitdefender Total Security, Kaspersky 2009, and avg Internet Security. If you can't get this version use avg free and download it in download.com.

hi,first a fall i want to prove a point which almost all the system users would
accept.installing 1 anti-virus will ask to uninstall the other one if available.it does clearly instruct we all that it could cause potential dangers.it's true that an anti-vir prog. dosn't show the file containing virus, but the other does.but in between we get fussed up for all these.so its very handy to use one and only one per system to generate better system perfomance.happy mylotting.
