magazine scam

hi I recently ordered a magazine subscription and they are forcing me to pay for 28 whole months even though the guy I called yesterday TOLD me I had an option to cancel whenever I wanted to. Is there any way out of this scam? Thanks

just cancel the direct debit, explain to the bank or credit card company you signed up with, and maybe talk to citizens advice bureau. i definately would not pay it thats for sure.
