I read Ulysses by James Joyce at university and found it so hard to read it has put me off reading any others of his. Is Dubliners like Ulysses in style?

I couldn't name a favorite, I have too many! But I'll some books that I could never forget reading (and may have read multiple times).
- His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman, I loved these books and the subtext beneath them, I hope they don't cut out the religious parts when the first book becomes a movie.
- Destiny's Children trilogy by Stephen Baxter, awesome hard sci-fi trilogy. Takes a while to get into, moves fairly slowly, but is very believable when describing what the human race could change into. Goes from ancient Rome to 500,000 years into the future.
- Harry Potter septology, kind of a given, but JK has weaved such an intricate storyline into them, and I just can't wait to find out what happens! My guess is on Hermione and Hagrid dying, BTW;)
- All Matt Reilly books. Sure, he mightn't be able to develop a character but you can't beat the crazy action scenes he can whip up.
That's all I can remember at the moment, reading has kind of been hard lately with uni, but I'd like to start something new soon:)

There are afew favorites. I think my all time favorite is Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. The whole premise of the story was astounding and like a deranged fantasy for a person who loves books the way I do. Next comes To Kill A Mockingbird. Marvelous. And the last would be Where The Red Fern Grows. This one for personal reasons. I actually met the author of this one when i was in grade school in Pocatello, Idaho. And I also met the author of Dances with Wolves at a Wolf Recovery benefit. No way I could list just one. All excellent books.

I like a lot of books and it's very hard to tell which one is my favourite. I like all books of King and Koontz. I also like some books of our Russian writers. But I guess most of all I like 'Master and Margarit' by Bulgakov. I read this book at school and fell in love with it. This is the only book I can read again and again.

I like several books myself and when I was a kid I used to love to read mystery books like Clue and the Boxcar Children mystery books, and those types of books were definitely my favorite, now that I am older I do not like reading as much as I used too, because I have trouble focusing my attention on what I am reading, but my fiance has been reading to me from a book called Upon A Good Land by Vilhelm Moberg and it is the second book in a series of four, and I am really into the series and would say that all four books in this series are my favorite book right, and they will probably be my favorite for a long time.

My Favourite book is Catch 22 by Joseph Heller. It's set in the Second World War and is about a soldier trying to get sent back home. It's really funny - I've read it many times but still laugh out loud at some parts. It's also quite sad in places too as some of them die. Each time I read it I discover a passage I had forgotten about, or that I respond differently to the characters depending on my mood. It's quite hard to read sometimes as it jumps back and forth and is surreal at times but I would heartily recommend it to anyone.
