I got an e-mail from a friend stating that you can tell where a product has been made by looking at the first 3 digits of the bar code.
690-692 China
00-09 USA or Canada
30-37 France
40-44 Germany
49 Japan
50 UK
Does anyone know if this is indeed true?

I have not heard this.
But it does sound logical as there are various
reasons for the amount of numbers on them.
I will have to pay attentiojn to them now.
Odd how things here make one do what they normally wouldn't do isn't it?
Thanks also.

Yep, you are so right I learn something new every time I come to Mylot. I will also pay attention to the bar codes next time I go shopping. Thanks for responding.

This is interesting for sure, and something I had never heard of before, but I am sure there are some Truths to this as well. I will have to write these down and remember to search it out myself, and then go pay attention when I go to buy something somewhere as well. Thanks for the useful information.
