it's accessible, it's quick and sometimes it's needed.

My initial response is the same reason adults do; that's obvious. Projects, games, e-mail, community, and so on. Every person has his or her own reasons to surf. It depends on the person, as is clear.

Children use the Internet in different ways and for different reasons, depending on their age and particular circumstances and interests. Although children as young as two or three can be introduced to the computer, many kids are about seven or eight when they begin to enjoy the Internet on a more practical level, through activities such as searching online encyclopedias, downloading pictures for school reports, or writing to pen pals. Young adolescents can benefit from more-sophisticated Web resources, accessing everything from the Library of Congress’s collection to magazines and newspapers to archives from around the world. Older adolescents find the Internet a rich resource of information about job opportunities, internships, and colleges; software tools to create multimedia reports; and specialized help with foreign languages and other school subjects. Parents should be aware, however, that, whereas most adults use the Internet primarily for work-related activities, adolescents in the U.S., in general, use it primarily for entertainment and socialization purposes. For them, the Internet is both a popular communication tool, like the telephone, and a familiar community environment, like the mall or a movie theater, where kids can develop their identities, join youth subcultures, relieve boredom, or cope with emotional issues or other personal concerns. So, in short, there are a lot of kids surfing the net in day-to-day basis. I think the main reason for the sort is because of the lack of outside activities or family activities at home. Parents are too busy to communicate with their kids or don't have time to play with them or make homeworks with them. In turn, we are so pre-occupied of keeping our kids safe that we are so afraid for them to go out and just have fun like when we were kids. I think that's why they tend to go online instead of doing some sport. In our household, we have 4 computers, one for each child (although we are already mature now) hehe.. But we always find time (our parents did too) when we were younger to have fun and play. Now a days we always see to it that there are 'family' times in our household. So, we have installed a ping pong or table tennis table for us to play in. We also have a pool table and a mini pool just to have more time and more stuff to do instead of just using the internet. Yes, we still do use the net for fun, but it's actually minimized because we'd rather spend time together than interact with people online. It's because of out parents' consciousness that activities and education should not be limited to the school or the internet. After all, the main reason why we have families is for us 'not' to be alone right? It's for us to have fun and enjoy every moment with each other's company.

Because they are very curious about the outside world,and the web supply them with very interesting things,and maybe some kids are addicting to chatting and palying computer games online.

Why does kids surf the net? Nowday people are more depends on the net to find knowledge or etc. kids surf the net are because of learning also sort of things. Why?, because its easy take us as example we surf the net interact with each other from all over the world. This way are more easy and also helping us to gain more knowledge about others relign. But kids need to be monitor by their parents because they could be expose to non healthy activities. This could cause the kids to learn the thing that their could not learn in their age. Correct m if i'm wrong.

The Internet is the easiest way to find information. I'm an adult and I prefer to use the Internet for MY research! ;)

Kids are easy to be attracted to something , and the internet is one of the most attracted things in these periods , not only kids but even adults , young and old people are all of them attracted to this domain ... the internet give those children some new oraisons where they can know about other countries , the world sides , and read differents kind of information such as about culturs , coutumes , traditions ,.... it is a huge and very vast place to visit and a very rich one .
