Are you a dreamer? Do you dream about things being different all the time? DO you always wish things could be different? I was a dreamer. Now I am a realist. I hated always wishing that things could be bigger, better, richer, fuller etc. Now a days I deal with things on a more realistic level. Are my wishes and dreams plausible? Can they be achieved? I try to strive for success but I dont expect the outrageous. I am old enough to know that peoples dreams are crushed on a daily basis because people aimed for things that were inconceivable. For me, I just keep in mind what I have to work with. I make sure that what I want to be the outcome will be beneficial to my future. I think my idea of dreams changed after I had children. What do you think?

Oh course we're all bitten in the butt with reality but i think to dream what you could have or want is totally normal. I mean where would we be without jealousy and envy. Rich people would just be rich and the middle class would have nothing to whine about not having. It's part of human nature to be jealous of the next man's better things.

I think its normal for a person to dream.Eversince i was a child i always dream that some day when i grow up i will achieve something for my family and myself. We can never see our future and what will happen in our lives. So in the middle of my struggle for success alot of things happened that hinders me from being successful but i never lose hope eventhough it was already impossible for me to achieve it as what i had thought but i realized that nothing is impossible when you have faith and have the courage and strenght to work hard. Then one day i can't believe that i already had my dream came true.As long as we still live we still keep on dreaming once one is achieve. We do have unending dream i think but the more we get older the lesser dream we have.I am basing this in myself because i iknow i dream alot when i was younger. But now that i already have my own family,i am very happy for it and all i want to see is my daughter to have a successful life also.Achieve her dreams and will have family of her own also in the future.

I think as human beings we are all trained to desire things to be different. The problem is the more we desire, the more we continue to desire. Once we have one thing we want another.
Now I am a Zen practitioner and follow the precept that Buddha discovered on his enlightenment, that the source of all suffering is desire and our aim needs to become detached. Easier said than done, but meditation certainly helps :-)

I have always been a dreamer....and always will be...but I always keep one foot on the ground. I say everyone should reach for the stars.....but like I said..keep one foot firmly on the ground. Dreams can be achieved....if you are willing to work hard enough for them.

Reality his you once you have kids. Keeping your dreams is not a foolish thing. Life happens, dreams keep you going.

Unfortunately people often set their sites on their end goal as their only dream. To realize your dreams it's best to look at how you're going to get to that end goal and set small goals. When you achieve one small goal plot out the next leg of your journey to the end goal and start working on that.
I agree that often times after we have a family our dreams change, not just our idea of dreams, but children can change the direction of our lives. If we let them, they will take us on a more fulfilling journey.
Don't give up on dreams that things can be better, but understand you have to live each day as it comes. Don't lose today dreaming about tomorrow. As hard as life gets sometimes, everyday has something marvelous for us, if it's only a butterfly flitting from flower to flower or a bird singing.
