So far City has bid for almost all star players in Europe ever since ADUG ( Abu dabi united group) has own the club claiming to be the richest club in England,
players link with City for transfer recently are Kaka, Barbatov,Fabregas,Cambiasso,C Ronaldo,Gianluigi Buffon, Ronaldinho.....and the latest bid is David Villa.
I just don't understand whether they are flaunting with their money or a craze for star players, it's a pathetic situation for them that none of the players agreed for the big transfer but it's good that atleast they manage to grasp Robinho from Chelsea by alluring him with a fat salary.
But they must be reminded that Rome was not build in a day.

hi zatak, this normally happens when club gets ample amount of money. well, i am of strong opinion that "money can buy players but not titles". i fell man city owerns are too ambitions, in an intrevies the owner stated than, he want to finish in top four this season, top the epl next and win the champions league the next season. which looks most unlikely. regarding big players, big players dont play for money. untill they finish in the top four they cant get hold of big players. which looks most unlikely this season. i do agree with you "rome was not built in a day". they need to spend there money wisely. robinho was a good one but he was over pricesed.

It's quite normal for a team who get an "instant cash" to behave like that. Same like Chelsea last time after Roman acquired the club. But the differences between these two club is Jose Mourinho is a great manager while Mark Hughes still need times to establish his reputation as manager of premier league club especially with Man City.
You're right to say that Rome was not build in a day. It all depends on the club owner's vision. If they wish to start preparing the base of the team around the newly acquired star, then the future looks so bright for the club. If they wish to win the league title in this season, then the whole team include Mark Hughes will be in trouble.
The current team is quite good. Robinho, Jo, Kompany is a good purchase. Maybe they should invest their money to shore up their defence which too much rely on Micah Richard and Richard Dunne.
