Oh no! while I was posting a topic today my computer screen glitched out and the entire discussion was lost and right now I'm so frustrated because I put a lot of effort into that topic and I really wanted some tips on that topic and now it looks like I will have to write it all over again anyway has anything like that ever happened to you while posting a discussion on mylot?

Yep. happens on a fairly regular basis. I usually copy everything before I hit post so the entire discussion is sitting there in the memory.

yes it has happened to me and it is a bummer because you have to rethink what you typed and get the flow of the discussion all over again and its a pain in the butt it is not fun at all it is irritating!!!!

Yes, it's happened to me. I usually write my stuff on Microsoft Word, then copy and paste it over. This works for the other sites I am on and for my blog. Unfortunately, I am just now reaching 500 posts, so I haven't been able to do it here. I'm hoping to use that after I get over the 500 mark. I do it that way because my computer will automatically save anything on Word, that gets shut down suddenly.

It has happened to me several times when I was barely new here. I have started a discussion and just like you I have put a lot of efforts into it. Sad to say, in a blink of an eye all of it was gone. Actually, my computer did not glitch at all. It was when I was about to post the discussion that it actually disappeared. After hitting the "start discussion" button, that's when it disappeared. How unfortunate, huh! But luckily it doesn't happen to me anymore. You can use the copy and paste method now since you have more than 400 posts already. Use them so that you won't lose what you have written in your discussion. I suggest that you put it in WORD first so that when your computer glitched again, you can still retrieve it from the document. Have a nice day! God Bless You!

It almost happened to me today! I spent 30 minutes responding to a topic with what (I thought) was a very thoughtful and insightful reply, and then my computer started acting wacky! I really thought that Firefox was going to shut down and that I was going to lose it all! Luckily, it started working again, and I was able to post it without having to re-type it! *Whew* I always save documents every few minutes in MS Word, but I don't think that there is any type of option like that in Firefox or other web browsers. But, I am not sure, so I am now going to look into that! Because, it was VERY stressful when I thought I was going to lose something that i had spend 30 minutes typing and that I would have to retype it all again! Yes, that is definitely a VERY stressful thing to have happen! :(
