I am looking to buy a new GPS as a gift for my husband. I was told that Garmin is the brand I need to buy, so that's what I'm planning on buying. I plan on purchasing it from WalMart, and was looking on their site, and had a question. I see the Garmin eTrex Legend for $109.00 and I see the Garmin eTrex H for $98.00. I was reading reviews for both, and people are rating the H series a lot higher than the Legend, saying that there is better signal strength, batteries last longer, and it has a color screen. Yet, it's cheaper. What am I missing, and which of the 2 would you recommend?

Hi wpark2419,
May the following may help you:
eTrex H: Basic using 'H' stand for high sensitivity, but you can't install map on this unit. Its purely for tracking only.
eTrex Legend: Similar to eTrex H but with mapping capability.
eTrex Legend HCx: Similar to eTrex Legend but with high sensitivity chip, color screen and Micro-SD card slot for additional memory
'H' stands for high sensitivity, 'C' stands for color, 'x' stands for micro-SD card slot
