The US economic crisis...are you feeling it?

The news and paper headlines these days are riddled with reports about the US economic crisis and the government's steps to counteract the situation. We here in the Philippines are beginning to feel the effects of the said crisis. Prices of imported goods have skyrocketed yet again, this time at a phenomenal rate. The exports are also suffering because of cost-cutting schemes from the US importers. Also, U.S.-based investments by our local banks and business institutions are hanging precariously in the balance. Now that the holiday season is fast approaching, is this going to be a bleak Christmas season? What effects from this crisis have you felt lately?

Higher gasoline prices are definitely affecting me. Other than that, no, not so far. My husband and I still have our jobs (knock on wood), so we're dong OK.
