Do you buy medicines without prescriptions?

Have you all ever bought medicines without prescription? Do you think the medical shop merchants must always ask for the prescriptions from doctor before handling over the medicines. I think as individuals we must be more careful and rational about taking medicines and make sure that the merchants ask for prescriptions before giving us the medicines. Also government must bring in strict laws and action for no despatch of medicine without prescripiton. Nowadays the chemists are more focussed on money making and getting their stocks cleared.... buying medicines without prescription is such a dangerous thing.the medical shop onwers have only only half knowledge.taking such medicines will give rise to resistant strains which in turn gives rise to new diseases.

I think there is always a risk involved when taking medicines without prescriptions even if it is for an illness as simple as a cold or headache. We generally try to get rid of the symptoms rather than the actual illness and end up causing more harm to ourselves than good, is it worth the risk ?
