I'm wondering if people do really prefer using TO GO rather than TAKE OUT... I'm used in saying Take Out when I'm on McDonald's... How about you?

If I am buying food at McDonalds, since I do not drive, I prefer to eat there, I like jack in the box, and kfc, and panda express, I would take subway home but I have never like eating there.

it depends on what the guy in the cash register asks you. when im in starbucks they usually ask, 'for here' or 'to go'. so ill answer them either for here or to go. when i purchase a meal in mcdonalds, they'd ask if its 'dine in' or 'take out'. again, ill answer them by choosing either one.

I have been used to saying "Take Out".... this has been before the phrase "To Go" has been coined so I believe it would be hard for me to change this anymore. In fact, I would admit that I was not even aware what that "To Go" means when I first heard that from one of the crews of Mcdonald. I was in fact being asked if my orders are "To Go or Dine In", so I asked her what To Go means, and she was good enough to tell me it means "Take out" Ha!ha!ha! Poor Me! Well, Take our or To Go, it does not matter for as long as the food is hot and good I'd eat! (ha!ha!ha!)

Hi Jeiyah, I prefer "take out" because I used to it. I used to work as a service crew before in Mcdonald's and I used to asked them "for dine in or take out?", that's why I used to say that way because it's more common that "to go". I think "to go" is using by other people, when they are in hurry, lols... I don't know, just a guess... Thanks for the post and best of luck in posting!

I use take out because I'm used to saying that rather than to go. It is part of our culture and that's not easy to remove. I think as long as you understand each other it doesn't matter which term do you use.
