How can I tell if my dachshund is going to defecate?

Hello myLotters. This is my first discussion. We have this mini dachshund, pure bred. His name's Dwight and he's 5 and a half months old. We can already tell if he wants to urinate when he starts sniffing on the floor. But we are really having trouble how to tell if he wants to defecate. Before he goes to our bathroom/comfoft room and do his business there but now he just takes care of his business everywhere. Under our beds, near where our shoes are kept and near the door. I really need help when it comes to this matter. HELP!!!
