Homework is good or bad?

Are you a student? Do you like homework? It seems the opinion of homework swings from one extrem to the other.Teachers think homework is all good and give students a lot of homework to do.They hope it can help students to review what they've learned in class and practise more.It can also make students stay home for studying insead of playing outside after school.A suvey shows that students who do lots of homework actually have a better performance in school.That's the benefit homwork brings.
Well,on the other hand,most of students hate homework.They have to spend most of their leisure time on it.As a student,i dislike homework.After studying for a whole day at school,i hope i can relax myself and do some interesting things at night.But doing homework takes me much time.It makes me more tired.
So i think every thing has its two sides.A resonable amout of homework can benefit students a lot,but not too much.

I think taht homework is good and cool only if in MODERATION
because the purpose is to build concept, check ur work daily, and clearing doubts aif any arises
But overburdening students like
givig same kind of questions again and again is a mere waste of time
It should be more emphasized on quality rther than quantity

I think homework does have benefits. Not too much as it can create tension in students. I just like to give home works that can reinforce each day learning or give them some course work rather than answering questions on a piece of paper. For me a home work should be enjoyable and fun to do.

homeworks are great! they provide enough time for me to study and research more of the topic and to further understand more of it!..its also a training for the students to answer the questions provided by the teacher..

Suitable level of homework indeed helps to improve the performance of students. Certain subjects such as Maths need practice through homework. I felt that my results deteriorate after not doing homework.

Homework is fine in moderation. I personally don't like it but it helps take the pressure off having to perform perfectly in class. Homework gives you those extra points you need to take you over to the next grade tier, just in case you goofed up a little during class assignments and quizzes. It also allows you to catch up to the class and learn at your own pace. In class, at the end of it you move on whether you've caught on or not. At home, you have the opportunity to sit and figure it out at your own pace and solicit help from the internet or friends and family.

The reason why students suck in doing their homeworks and eat up a lot of time because they lack practice and they do not have a good foundation. Say the subject is Math.. One will never do well in a subtraction assignment if he has not yet mastered addition. So the main problem why students do not enjoy doing their homeworks is because they do not have a good foundation. Personally I used to perceive homeworks as hindrance to my childhood fun. But now I realize that homeworks really help students do better in school.

There are too much stress on a students who face with a lot of competitions. So they need work hard and get a high mark . I can't say homework is bad for a student,because a teacher can't make sure that every student absorbs all the knowledge on the class ,thus homework is a very useful way to test students. Of course ,I agree with you a resonable amount is very important

being a student we dont like any homework. though it helps a lot but we never like even to do that.But if we talk about whether its good or bad then i must say that it is good as it help the student to remember whatever he had learnt during the classes...

i loathe homework. sure, i tell people that homework is good, that it allows me to do complementary reading that improves my grasp on the subject. and it is true, i believe that homework does do that. but when i finally sit down and put up the books on the table, i curse the inventor of homework every time.

I think homework is a good idea. But only if it specically is linked to what you need to know for tests and quizzes. Some teacher give loads of homework just for the sake of having homework. you need work that you can benefit from 100%. Although, I do not think loads of homework is the way to go. Teachers should take into consideration that other teachers are giving you homework also. We should not have loads of homework everynight. It produces stress, and if you work too much or study it too hard for a long period, you get lost in your work. This happens to me a lot. I just think too much homework is a bad idea.

I dunno why but for some odd reason teachers don't seem to 'notice' the fact that even if they give little homework, the other teachers for the other subjects give a somewhat equal amount, resulting in too much homework to be done in a single day (sometimes too much to be even completed)
I don't like homework at all, I think it's wrong of them to take our leisure time away just because they feel like it. We already spend over a quarter of a day at school, and need over a quarter for sleeping.. and if they take out most of the free time forcing us to do stupid and useless homeworks then when the hell will we ever be able to relax?! I myself am so exhausted by this stupidity and ignorance that I am constantly under pressure and a sense of unrelief. Teachers need to start noticing the fact that students aren't robots!

I used to be a student.Yeah,i dont like the homework,too.But i think homework is a very useful tool to improve children's education,assess properly the education use and motivate further learing.And all homework have a common goal which must be achived for childen's success in further.

I was good at studies. i also enjoyed reading a lot. so i liked homework. i remember before vacations, teachers used to give many pages of homework to do. I used to complete them all before the vacation started even! I think its good till some limit.

If parents can clearly understand the importance of homework it becomes a very good and useful tool to develop their children and succeed at school. Parents should understand that homework teaches children how to be independent and responsible. Sometimes children think homework is boring due to some reasons: they cannot find the resources needed for homework; they want to spend out-of-school time by playing and going out; they associate homework with their class study and do not want to continue studying after school. Knowing all these reasons may help parents make child's homework process easy and fun.

As a teacher I can say how important homework is to practice a given skill but, more importantly to me, it makes the students practice something even more important, something call responsibility. Some students will learn this skill or that skill. Our schools are designed to review earlier skills so they will hear this material again at a different time but the thing they need to learn the most is how to be a responsible person and take care of their priorities.

I never hated homework. I just did homework and do it well. Heck, I even do work which is not required of me just because I am interested in the subject and want to learn more. I guess, those people who don't care for learning would be the ones bellyaching about homework. I don't complain. Bring the homework on. Cheers!!

to the real world fact students are very playable and they are not serious in their studies in their school days. so it is advised to the schools of giving the home work but giving more home work will not give good result. so the reasonable amount of home work is better. the main advantages in writing the home work is the students gets improved in hand writing and the abstract of the home work will get into his mind which ll help him in his future
