Here's the article: http://www.2theadvocate.com/news/31090094.html So, I'm taking a cue from my friend Xfahctor to start a discussion about politics on the *gasp* local level. Here's my question: Has anyone else's governor acted thusly, and if so how? I do not mean specifically dealing with ethics. Hmmm... I guess you'll actually have to read the article won't you?

From what I understand after reading the article, they are waiting to see how the relationship with this company develops to determine this unethical... I think that no matter how it pans out, it is certainly inappropriate. Certainly this company gains something by having the governor visit, why else would they pay for a portion of his trip? Absolutely no part of the company's money should have been used for this trip, I can't see how that is anything but a conflict of interest.

Yes, and if you knew about Governor Bobby Jindall's recent ethics reform--that was his first project as Governor this year; we had a whole special session for it--then you'd know that he specifically wanted to stop all the gift giving that politicians are usually on the receiving end of. I'd consider this to be along the same lines, don't you think?

We have a somewhat new governor. I haven't listened closely to him. He peed me off as soon as he took office. So I'm just waiting until it's time to vote him off. lol

Yeah, Governor Bobby Jindall is new, too. Actually, we were all thinking he was going to be chosen as McCain VP running mate. Even though I don't agree with Jindall's politics most of the time, I think he would have been a much better choice. Oh well, maybe next time.
