Do you really want someone as uninformed as Obama for President?

United States

When Obama was questioned about Reverend Wright, his Pastor of 20 years, he was unaware of the hateful words spilling from the mouth of the man. He must have missed those sermons. When Obama was questioned about his affiliation with Ayers, his response was that he didn't know about the man's past. Questioned about Acorn, he is unaware of fraudulent voter registrations. I am just a middle class Grandmama and I know about all of this! I don't know about y'all but I want my President to know what is happening in our world. This guy pretends he doesn't know what is happening in his little corner of the world! It's as if he is saying, "I don't care what YOU do, just get ME elected!" Vote Obama, Change you can be afraid of...

I am not voting for either of the tow big ticket items this elections, but out of the 2, Obama concerns me the most. What concerns me more is his following masses. You'll be trashed for this post, count on it but your right. When you lay with skunks, you can lie about it all you want, but eventually, the stink gets noticed. If you are laying with skunks and didn't know they were skunks, then you are lacking one of the necessary 5 senses for survival.

just because he dosent recall every word his pastor speaks dosent make him uninformed does it really? I think he would make a better president than Mccain could. and he couldnt do any worse than what we have now.

Considering the fact that there were cameras recording this man's sermon for the purpose of selling them to the public I am pretty confident that the *good* Rev. Wright racheted it up quite a bit. He had lots of pearls of wisdom for sale in the lobby of the church.

The point isn't so much about how informed Obama is or isn't. In my opinion, its judgment. What kind of judgment does it show for a major presidential candidate to be affiliated with a pastor like Wright? A former terrorist like Ayers or Dorn? A convicted felon like Rezko? A terrorist organization like Hamas (who made a financial contribution and formal endorsement of Obama's candidacy)? Such financial advisors as Raines and Johnson? All of the fantastic conspiracy theories and "black helicopter" speculation aside, what does it say about the individual that would be professionally and personally associated with this list of people? What would the American public say if Senator McCain attended a white-supremacist church for 2 decades? What if McCain had previously worked with Timothy McVay or the Unabomber? What if Al-Queda had endorsed McCain? What if Richard Fuld were his economic advisor? I think that if those things were true, McCain would not only be out of the presidential race, he would be forced out of the Senate. All that being said, I do agree with Spall that the important things to focus on are the issues. However I do ask you Obama supporters to give some serious thought as to how you would react if the shoe were on the other foot. If McCain had such dubious connections with shady characters, would you be so willing to merely "focus on the issues"? I sincerely doubt it.

Obama claims to have attended this church for how many years? Yet he didn't know the pastor is a racist? Either he is lying, or he doesn't attend services very often. I vote for the first choice. I think he is lying. He is probably just trying to cover his but by telling everyone that he didn't know what was going on. I agree with you when you say that he is saying to just get him elected. He is DEFINITELY change we can be afraid of, unless we are muslim. I will not be voting for him. I hope to God that he isn't elected. He is just too shady. About the only thing I actually agreed with him on was when all that crap came out about Palin's daughter and he stood up and said that a candidates family was off limits. In his case, he may just be saying that because he has something to hide, but I agree with him that families (especially the candidate's children) should not be brought into the picture during elections. I have said it before, and I will say it again...If Obama is elected, we are going to find out just how much of a racist and a muslim he really is...I hope I am wrong about him. I have a deep down feeling that I am not wrong about him, though. I have a feeling that we are going to be worse off with him as president than we are right now...

I believe that Barack Obama has shown during the past three debates that he is very informed and that he has good and viable plans for this country. The Republican rhetoric you posted about has been posted again and again and really does not speak to the important issues this country faces.

The "Republican rhetoric" that I posted does indeed speak to the important issues that our country faces. My point being that if Senator Obama is unaware of the things going on in his personal life how can we be confident that he will know what is going on in the entire world?

As one middle class grandma to another, you need to keep yourself more current. As I said, what you posted has been covered and covered but we can cover it again if you like. Rev. Wright: Obama said he wasn't present during the offensive sermons. Do you go to church every single Sunday...I know that I don't. Do you know when that offensive sermon was preached? Wright isn't the only old school preacher to blame the white folk and the government for every black family's struggles...this goes back to before the civil rights movement. Some got past the old hatred, Wright didn't. He is an extremist and Obama tried to initially distance himself from the man but ended up doing the right thing and denounced him. Ayers: Obama was a young child when the Weatherman were active. He met Ayers as a college professor and I don't know when he became aware of Ayers' past. Tell me, are you as concerned about McCain's long time friendship with G. Gordon Liddy and is his involvement with Watergate, his admitted willingness to kill anyone who got in his way the night of the breakin, his plots to kill reporter Jack Anderson and Howard Hunt who was to testify, his plans to firebomb the Brookings Institute and his radical radio show where he instructed listeners to go for "a head shot" when firing on federal agents? McCain was recently a guest on his show and told Liddy how proud he was of him. Are you proud of him as well? ACORN: Obama does not run ACORN and is in the middle of a presidential campaign so, no, I don't believe that he should be taking time to be on top of their everyday activities in every state they're operating in. He reasonably expected them to operate in an ethical manner and that those they hired to register voters would do the same. I don't see how you can consider his lack of knowledge about what all those staff members were doing as his being uninformed. As to your last question, we can be confident about Obama's awareness about what is going on in the rest of the world by watching the debates and going to his website.

What specific plans do you believe are not good or viable, Greyback? I really am interested in your views even though your interest seems confined to calling people names. BTW, call me a Marxist all you want if it makes you feel better. Fact is that I'm a registered Republican and a conservative who was on the fence for awhile so, while you may be bigoted and hateful, I'm well informed.

Moseying along, I am a grandpa, a Vietnam Vet, and ex-army officer and a teacher. I can tell you McCain and his lack of judgement, highlighted by selecting Palin and his jumping around on the credit issues, show that he can't be trusted. He is a gambler and I don't want him gambling with my future, the futuer of my kids or my grandkids. I would take Obama any day of the week and twice on Sunday over McCain/Palin.

I agree it is Change that you can be afraid off. Obama has just got way too many bad connections for me to vote for him and I do remember Sept 11 and I do not want to see that start up again. I am also a pro Israel person and I just don't think he would be very good in this area. I have to vote from my hart and my hart says vote for McCain. I don't want to bash anyone that voting for Obama but he is just not for me and everyone has a right to vote for who they want. I like to wish everyone on mylot a good day and happy mylotting to you and may the best man win.

I support Obama 100%. I will be worried about our country if McCain wins. I think he shows a lack of judgement, and the worst of that was choosing Palin as his running mate. People are not only voting for the president, but think if something was to happen to the president...would you want Palin running this country? I hate the way that McCain mocks Obama...I have seen that in the presidential debates. He laughs, makes faces and interrupts Obama. I really don't think he has much class or manors. I certainly hope that Obama wins this election.

I think many of you have been watching too much Fox News or MSNBC to get your facts. Why don't you make up your own oppinions based on how your current personal situation is compared to 5, 10, or 15 years ago and how it will be in the future and the future of your children. As to who will lead the country in the best direction and who will be best for me I can only speak for myself. I had a job 2 months ago and now I'm unemployed, I had health insurance for me and my family and now I don't, plus many other material things that I've had to get rid of. While I don't blame anybody for my current situation, I can tell you all that HOPE is the only thing that nobody can take from me, and so far there is only one candidate that has run his entire campaign about HOPE. Will he be able to deliver it? Who knows... But I'm always going to cheer for the guy that sees light at the end of the tunel even if the road gets a little rough. I don't agree with everything Sen. Obama proposes, just like I do agree with many of Sen. McCain proposals, but so far Sen. McCain has been too negative and tried to many cheap shots as a desperation move to try to get the votes he needs. Raising questions about previous personal relationships are a legitimate issue, not talking clearly about how to get this great nation back on track is pure irresponsibility.

I think Obama is a slick politician and he might have been lying when he said he missed those sermons. What could have happened is he didn't think those sermons were out of the ordinary which means that he totally embraces Rev Wright's rhetoric. It's a lousy business, politics but I guess it's better than having a monarchy or dictatorship where killing the ruler is the way to get a new one.

I do ot support Obama AT ALL. I would rather this country have no president at all than have Obama in charge. I have said, even before he actually won the primary election, that if he gets elected, this country will be in grave trouble. I cannot explain this feeling fully, but it is a gut instinct that I have, and have had even before I really knew anything about this candidate.
