The Fall of Man

I just want to know what you think of this.
In Genesis, God created Adam and from him he made Eve. He placed them in the Garden of Eden and may enjoy anything there except to eat any fruit from the Tree of Life.
But one day, the woman was enticed by the serpent that when she eats from the Tree, she will gain wisdom and her eyes will be opened to the truth. She did ate from the Tree and even conviced Adam to have his bite.
Because of this God banished them from the Garden of Eden. Since then, Adam will feed and provide for his family from the toils of his hands and by the sweat of his brow. Eve will procreate with birth pains.
Do you think that the Fall of Man was attributable to the fault of the woman?
Should the woman be held responsible for what happened?

I cannot believe that you really consider this sotry to be accurate and you really want a serious comment about it? Do you mean to use this as a similarity with some events from modern time where women have led to the downfall of society? If you are trying to compare this fictitious situation with a modern real situation I would be interested in knowing your suuggestion. I do not believe that even christians believe that this story of the creation was exactly accurate. I think most of them believe it is meant to imply the beginning not be exactly accurate. What do you mean?

It seems a little condescending to make the assumption that "even Christians" don't believe the Bible. While I agree with you that some don't believe that the Bible is literal, there is a large quantity of us who do believe that the Bible is literal. Whether you believe in it in any way or not, it's a little rude to act so incredulous and shocked about this post.

Hi. Thanks for commenting.
I don't consider this story the most accurate of all but I give the highest regard to the Word of God. I am not putting into issue the accuracy of the Bible. I just want to know if others think what I think about it.
I have seen women who were reasons for the fall of men in the modern times. Though they are not popularly known, it is my opinion that their defeat or failure were because of women.
I just want to know if this situation can be traced from the Genesis in the minds of some few.
Good day.

Yes - I thought you were trying to use this analogy and I agree. I have met many men who have suffered at the nads of women, particularly after separation, where the mothers have denied contact between the children and the father simply to take revenge on the man. I think this is a form of child abuse and should be recognised as such. I had not thought of the bible connnection before - interesting.

First, it depends on whether you consider this biblical story to be historical truth.
Second, even if you think of it as a piece of fiction, the woman is blameless. You see, she ate the fruit first and then she offered it to man. She did not force man to eat it. She only offered it to him. He COULD HAVE REFUSED IT. He had the free will to choose to obey God's word or disobey. And he was older; he was created first, so he ought to have been wiser. Still he ate the fruit. He could have absolutely refused to eat it. Therefore, he is fully responsible for his own downfall.
Cheers and happy mylotting

You are really positive minded.
I have not thought of that that Adam is wiser because he was created first and is ought to be wiser. What I thought is that God made Adam the master of all the animals in the Garden and he entrusted Eve to him. Love her and care for her at all times. But Adam left Eve, which became an opportunity for the Serpent to deceive her. He should not have left Eve. He should have stayed by her side and guided her all the way. The Man is responsible for the Woman.
Thank you for responding and I really have learned form you today.

I do not read genesis as literal events. I think it is just a story much like the many stories from the myths of peoples. It is a nice story but I don't think it is real at all. Cheers!!

Both Adam and Eve are responsible and accountable for their own action of disobeying God's commandment of not eating the fruit of knowing good and evil. God's order is simply a test of obedience to both of them but sad to say they're failed. The course of obeying God's word is always a serious course for and in Him. I do believed in God's perfect time, He will allow them to go and eat the fruit. But sad to say they never learn to wait patiently while obeying God. Thanks for the space provided--Fulfill your calling in the Lord and say I it again: "God's calling"--cheers

God punished Adam, Eve & serpent. Eve ate the apple and gave t to her husband and serpent cheats these couple. Adam obeyed eve. He disobeyed God's commandments. And he gave second place to God. Whenever we obey God we are honouring Him. When we disobeyed we are dis honouring Hime. God Stressed Obedience.
