Here's a simple recipe:
1 box of cake mix (spice works well or yellow, butter recipe, white too...)
1/3 cup oil
1 1/2 c milk
3 eggs
1 box banana cream pudding mix
1 cup chopped pecans if you want (or walnuts)
Cream cheese frosting
Mix all ingredients together. Pour into pans ( 2 8inc pans or 13 x 9 pan)
Bake at 350f For 30-35 mins. When cakes cool - ice with frosting.
If you want to use actual bananas ...
3 ripe mashed bananas
4 tablespoons sour cream
1 box of cake mix
3 egg whites
2 tbs oil
1 1/3 c milk
1 tsp vanilla (real or extract)
1 c pecans ... if you want or walnuts
Blend bananas with mixer - adding the sour cream. When mixture is well blended - not lumpy add cake mix, whites, oil, and flavoring - mix. Add the milk a bit at a time to check consistency - and adjust if needed.
This makes 3 layers ... so you need an extra round pan or again 13x9 pan. Bake for 30 mins.
enjoy!

You can't get much simpler than this one.
EASY BANANA CAKE
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1/8 tsp. baking soda
1 c. mashed bananas (2-3 med. ripe bananas)
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Mix together the yellow cake mix as directed on the package, except, stir 1/8 teaspoon baking soda into dry mix before adding liquid. Also, use 1/4 cup less water than package directions. To cake mix add mashed bananas and nuts if desired. Bake according to package directions.
