Last nights debate was the best by far, still I give it to Obama, again!! Obama, even under accusations like..."If you wanted to run with Bush you should have 8 years ago" or something like that...WHAT? And--his, Obama's, policies and character are questioned by McCain--Blah, blah, blah, and on, and on, and on... Obama's calm, cool, and collected nature tends to reassure me and put me at ease with my definite choice! Go Obama, Go Obama, Go Obama, Rah, Rah, Rah!! ~G~

That comment about not being Bush was a bit confusing. We've heard from McCain again and again that he's voted with Bush more than anyone else in the Republican party. Then, suddenly, he tries to say he's a maverick. Now he's not Bush at all. Can't he make up his mind? I found that just as offensive as his pointing at Obama and calling him "that one". It seems as if he wants all Americans to get amnesia when he realizes what a fool he's made of himself. Are we back in the 1950s, asking people to fear intellectuals and to avoid actual thinking at all costs?

I felt the same way. The way he says "that one" is so disrespectful. That really made him look like the fool. He is getting old, and i think he is forgetting things everyday.

I'd say YOU are confused! OBAMA, NOT McCain, has been saying again and again that McCain voted with Bush more than anyone. It was McCain who has said again and again, I've been with Bush on some things, and have NOT hesitated to go against him as well. McCain didn't change. He just made the same point he's always made... he is NOT a continuation of Bush. If you don't understand that it is a TACTIC by Obama to keep bringing up Bush, you are more confused than just on who said what. I've never understood the problem with his saying "that one". It's an old colloquialism, that's all (and it's not a negative one either). How about when Obama states in each debate that he has to correct McCain's facts, and then says, what's new, or no surprise there. You don't call THAT offensive tho, do you?

I think Obama outdid McCain in this one, too. He actually had answers and specific plans to put on the table while McCain attacked at every opportunity, interrupted and talked in vague circles.

Obama is the great interrupter! He cut McCain off when McCain had just begun to explain his health care plan. McCain mentioned one part of Obama's, and Obama just jumped in, and said, no let me say this, and then went on to explain his whole health care plan, THEN went on to "explain" his version of what McCain's plan is. Then when McCain got a chance to speak again, the moderator cut him short and said they have to move on. Obama interrupted even more in the other two debates. His "plans" and "answers" are the same ones he's always had. But they are NOT good for US.

Hi my friend, thanks for the response. I am soooooooooo glad that someone agrees with me that Obama won all 3 debates!! Now let's see him in the White House...is that a coincidence or what? An African American man in the White House...I love it!! ~G~ *NOTE: Please don't anyone get me wrong...his skin color is not, repeat, NOT what I look at in my choice, it's the content of his words, his demeaner, his coolness, his calm nature...Yes, yes, we need Obama to be our President!! ~G~

All the networks and both candidates' sites are offering transcripts and videos of the debates. Perhaps you could benefit from checking on them. If you look again, you're sure to see the many errors in your posts.

I agree with you on all points. Obama has shown time and time again that he can stand up to McCain and prove that he is the better man for the job. McCain has said that he has voted 98% of the time with Bush. That would make him a lot like Bush and I don't think that we can afford another 4 years of his economic plan. Obama has been poor and he knows what single parenting is and he knows how it feels to want to be middle class. I don't think that McCain has any clue!

It's been mentioned several times since last night's debate that neither McCain nor Palin ever uttered the words "middle class" once in all the debate. We don't matter to them at all, it's just the same old trickle down theory that doesn't work. Annie

Obama was calm and collected. That's his nature, apparently. But when McCain said I am NOT George W Bush, and if you wanted to run against Bush you should have run 4 years ago, OBAMA DID SHUT UP He got the message: stop comparing McCain to Bush. McCain was right to say that, because Obama has been trying so hard for all these months to make people think McCain and Bush are identical and they are NOT.

No, McCain and Bush aren't QUITE identical but they're close enough for me to know I sure don't want McCain in the White House and I SURE don't want Palin anywhere close to Washington. Annie

If they're not alike, why would McCain be so proud of having voted with Bush more than anyone else in the legislature? If you don't want to bother with fac-checking, re-run some of his commercials, or read the junkmail he keeps sending out. It's all there.

I thought McCain came across as a desperate nasty cantankerous old man. It's interesting that he kept saying that Michelle Lee in charge of the DC schools is for vouchers when she herself said that she was not in this morning's news. McCain keeps harping on the same mis-statements about Obama. Joe the plumber is really Sam and McCain didn't pronounce his last name correctly. Out of touch McCain has to keep on being nasty. It's too bad he is destroying his own once good reputation as a fair man.

Sorry, gwoman, bur facts are out of date. Those teachers are almost entirely gone. To be perfectly honest, though, the accountability that got rid of them has gone so far that now the best of the best are being driven out. In my department meeting after school this week, we added up the extra hours required by paperwork to "prove" that we do what we do, and each teacher is adding more than a dozen hours a week, along with a reduction in pay. Can't they just walk into the classroom if they wonder whether we're doing what we're supposed to do? As of 2009, they've thrown out academic freedom entirely, and we're each told exactly what we must teach, how, and when It will, I predict, be a disaster. My classes are the same subject, but I can't teach any two the same way or at the same time, because of the personalities that make up each period. Some need more time on one thing, some on another. Now that time is not being allowed. The kids who get lost will drop out (I teach high school seniors so they're old enough for that option), and some very important material is being dumped. We're being required to teach to the state test, even though kids can't be seniors if they can't pass the test. so they have no need to do that. Every state now has tests that are not only difficult; they're poorly written in order to let as few as possible pass without a number of re-takes. Kids that can't pass them, as in being fully literate, etc., can't ever get a diploma!

Oops--almost forgot to mention that the majority of charter schools throughout the country are failing, and being closed down.

Hi Mcat19, on the school thing...both candidates are missing one very important issue...Obama came close but not close enough...the most important thing in our school systems today is the fact that we have too many "teachers" who actually don't care about the education of our students...this is the reason that there are soooooooooo many students that graduate with a cap, gown, and a diploma and cannot even read!! We need more caring teachers so that if a child is not meeting his or her grade levels that child should be held back. I am steaming over the fact that my youngest graduated and couldn't even pass the college entrance exam...UGH...and believe me when I say it was not because of a lack of parent involvement and help, I was with her all the way and I still am and will be always. Thanks for your response. ~G~

I don't know where you are, or if you saw the debates, but Obama wants to leave Iraq quicker, and by announcing to our enemies WHEN we will leave, so they can be ready to do whatever they want. BUT he doesn't want to stop fighting; he wants to put more troops in Afghanistan, he's talked about invading Pakistan, etc.

McCain was on top of things in this debate. Little man Barry just doesn't measure up. He might make a good socialist or communist dictator, but I can't see him as an American President. djbtol

Although I'm not an American... but I think Obama is better choice than McCain.. Simply that he is not a usual presidential candidate. Change needs a desire, and Obama has it. McCain is good bud I don't think he's good enough to direct USA towards right direction cause simply he'll follow Bush's path and continue the mess as it is.

I agree that once again Obama took the debate. McCain came off as a grouchy old man. The set of his face and then rolling of his eyes just totally turned some people off. His Im not Bush part was like umm okay yeah your not Bush but you sure voted with him enough to be on the same wavelength as Bush and I think most of the American people are ready for change.

I agree, I feel very assured that Obama is the right one to lead us in the next four or hopefully eight years and McCain has certainly reinforced my belief that he's no way capable to be President. We don't need Mr. Wilson and Gomer's kid sister in the White House! Soon we can sing "Happy Days Are Here Again!" Annie

McCain was so proud of himself when he said that. I guess it doesn't take much for him to be pleased with himself, huh? He sure didn't ever get around to "whipping Obama's butt" did he? lol I can't believe he couldn't even win one debate. That's just pathetic. The more he opens his mouth, the more people are turning to Obama. Good! Early voting started in North Carolina today! I can't wait to cast my vote for Obama!

Exactly. McCain had the worst temper ever, this was the time where he needed to show that he is definitely a greater pick than Obama and i think he did. McCain kept talking about his so called "fines", but Obama told him off everytime, but he STILL kept talking about it lol. I got a full scholarship to Hofstra University but decided not to go. :| I think Obama is very likely to win this election. All of McCains fans were bashing Obama earlier on stating that all of Obamas supporters will feel stupid when they lose. All I hope is That The Best pick Will Be Obama Because, frankly, McCain Sucks.

I'm a fan of Obama even though I'm not an American. I heard from the news that McCain was disrespectful during the debate.
