Is there any christian here who even though accepted Christ Jesus as his savior still continue to sin, or is living in sin.
As what sermons says, accept Christ as your savior and be born again so you will be a new creation. But there are times and event in my life that i cannot be a good christian after all, although i knew i was sinning or i know i am sinning, because my conscience tells me so, but still can't fight my weakness and fall into the trap of satan, and yes SIN. According to the bible, I am already forgiven, but what if I do it again? I am a bit confused if i am the only one like this. I know i still have my salvation, because I believe what God promises he always stays true to it,(unlike human). and Human as we are, i just can't help but fall into sin/s. Please give some view here. I feel so guilty so many times. and yes i haven't overcome my sin yet...

JUst remember this. God accepted you exactly like you are. He has hopes of teaching us where we can avoid sin. However this takes time and some sins are hard to kick. If you think you have sinned simply ask God to forgive you and ask Him to help you avoid it next time. A willing heart that will openly and honestly accept God's help. That's all he will ever ask of us. This world teaches us how to sin and God will teach us how not to sin.

Hello grace although you are a christian you are also a sinner. Every christian is still a sinner. The only difference between a christian and a non-christian is that the christian is save by grace. The only man that was without sin is Jesus Christ. God knows that we are human and that humans are not perfect and this is the reason why we have Jesus Christ to intervene on our behave. There will be times when we will sin but if we confess and ask God forgiveness he will pardon us. What we should do though is not be doing the same thing over and over because this will be that we are taking God and his mercies for granted. So after praying forgiveness please try and abstain from doing the same thing.
There are verses in the bible that are there to strengthen us so I would advice you to read them. There are also books that are available why don't you try and see if you can get one. Keep on praying and practise what you are praying for. All the best kerry

hi kerriannc, thanks for your response. Yes i have my bible and keep on reading it. I really prayed so hard that my Good Lord will strengthen me and give me enough courage to abstain from my sin, and please pray for me even though you don't know what my sin is ( but sure know that my Lord knows it all). I am also asking Him to really come and lead my life. I don't want to do the same sin over and over again. I know that His coming soon, with all the signs of times. I just ask Him that when He's here,to not to forget me.thanks again.

I am a born again christian & will try to help u. Phillippians 4:13 says"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. I don't know what sin u r talking about but it makes no difference because when we sin we should repent right then & do our best not to do it again. i taught my children that every day u put ur feet on the floor satan will try to get u one way or another. the only way we can fight sin is to read our Bible & pray every day. also, go to church every chance we get to hear the Word of God preached. John 10:10 says,The theif cometh not but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Luke12:10 says, And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him, but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. So, according to scripture, every sin (if u repent) will be forgiven, except for blaspheming againt the Holy Ghost. I John1: 9&10 says, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. Romans 12: 1 & 2, I BESEECH you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable servie. And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable. and perfect will of God. hope i have helped. glad to be ur friend. God Bless You!!!!

ive read a book entitled "the prayer of Jabez".
though its not really relevant,
Jabez prayed "...and that thou would keep me from evil
that it may not grieve me."
even the Lord's prayer says "..do not bring us to temptation but deliver us from evil.."
pray that God will deliver evil away from you, especially that, though we are made strong in Christ, we are prone to be easily tempted..

All sin. All have sinned, all will sin again, and again. Becoming a follower of Christ does not mean you are free of sin, it means you are free from sin. It is saying "hey, here I am a helpless man that cannot do this on my own. I need God to help me to become a better person." Some people think that they don't need God, and can do it on their own however. Good luck to you.

Hi Grace,,
I not sure if I qualify to even respond, as I'm not sure even about whether i'VE actually "accepted Christ as Saviour" or not... but here goes... I think it was in John somewhere that hes said something like (if anyone believes he is without sin then he is a liar) so awareness and confession of sin is a good sign that you are not in as bad a place as you might think...I believe that you usually have the ability to choose between "sinful behaviour" and "being good". There are times when we come pretty close to instant reactions thatwe don't want to take full responsibility for...we are learning and growing (hopefully) in knowledge and righteousness while in this world. but we are not complete yet.
I feeling guilty about something ,just confess it to God and if you are sorry ,just say so . Do not try to explain, as in "God, I'm sorry I shouted at that guy, BUT he CUT ME OFF!!! at the traffic light..." True repentance involves just accepting that what you did was wrong and not defending yourself...If you have any particularly recurring "sins" that seem to be rather deliberate then don't keep saying "Sorry, but...." Ask God for help in dealing with them,, Actually you should remember that is says somewhere that you will not be tempeted beyond what you can bear and that a way out will be provided...The way out of (I believe) any temptation is to remember to look to Christ. if you think about him ythe temptation will probably vanish... Anyhow , I think that being somewhat dissatisfie with yourself is probably a good thing, as there is (probably) always room for improvement while we're here on Earth..... God bless and hang in there...
