I know this movie is a few years old. But I came across it again recently. I must say that I'm not really into buying or collecting dvd's. I Don't buy a movie until I see it or rent it first. If it's something I really like and I know I will watch it a few times over again, then I'll buy it. When I first saw Sin City, I liked the whole comic book fell of the movie. The whole black and white scenery, with some parts of the movie having color, and some parts not. The 1st few minutes were okay. When it was time for the character marvs, played by Mickey Rourke, or for those of you don't know, the ugly guy in the film with the gigantic face. I'm sitting there watching his story and I'm saying, "this movie is pretty good, this character Marv is the man". I'm like "I'm going to buy this movie cause this guy Marv is the best character in the movie". I didn't realize that it was one of those movies that tells a bunch of different stories, in which all the characters are living in the same town, and some of them are kind of linked to each other in some way. But the scene where the police finaly caught Marv and put him in the electric chair, the pulled the switch the 1st time and he didn't die. I'm watching with a smile on my face like, "Marv is the F'N man, you can't kill him". Then they pulled the switch a 2nd time and he dies. Then they go on to the next story in the movie. This is when I realized that this was one of those movies where a person has their own story. Now I'm pissed, cause after Marv died, I had no interest in watching the rest of the movie. I didn't care for Clive Owens or Bruce Wills'scenes. I literaly was on the edge of my seat, getting ready to press the eject button. This was the 1st time That I had to force myself to finish watching a movie. Mainly because I really thought Marv wan't dead and he was going to come back. I laugh when I think about it, but I was really talking to myself out loud going "nah, he ain't dead, he gonna come back at some point in the movie and raise some hell. He to tough to die". I'm no expert on films, I am a really harsh critic, because i am one of those who see's certain things or ways that could've been done, or certain ways that certain characters could have been used to make the movie better. In my opinion the whole Sin City movie should've been based on Marv. Either that or you give him his own movie. To me, he was the only interesting character in the whole film. You don't kill off somebody like that and leave me sitting there with 2 more hrs of nothing else to look forward to. If I would have gone to see this in the theater, I would tell people that this movie sucks! But since I rented and watched it in the comfort of my own home, it's was okay, but it still sucks..lol. I watched Marvs story about 4 more times before I returned it to blockbuster. So whenever I watch this movie, I only watch Marv's part, which is about 20min long. So when people ask me if I ever saw the movie Sin City, I say "Yeah I saw Marv, it was great"

Hi Stinge.. I too am a big fan of the movie Sin City. The first time I saw it in a cinema I didn't know what to expect. I went with some friends who were into the comics, but I hadn't heard about it and I'm not generally into graphic novels or comics. But I also liked the comic book feel to it. the visual presentation is unusual for a movie. I myself appreciated the Bruce Willis story more. the duty he felt and the sacrifice his character gave. very unusual in a modern movie. In general I thought all the storylines were interesting. I believe that the movie will be appreciated more in the future. Interesting stories and very unusal presentation. Maybe not a classic in the normal sense, but above average for sure.
