How to pull in a larger crowd at football matchs?

October 16, 2008 5:19pm CST
Recently I was asked by my local football club to help out with the running of a supporters club. They asked me because the rest of the runners are male and they wanted a female opinion which is fair enough as the club want to entice more people to come down on a Saturday afternoon and watch the matches that are held there. My problem is that next week their holding a meeting and i'm stuck for ideas on how I can get people interested and eager to show their faces at the matches to come. Is there anyone out there that can offer any advice? Give any suggestions? Was thinking posters but want something more original...something that will boost attendance at the game? Thanks for taking the time to read my discussion and hopefully you will have some ideas to help. Huge thanks in advance

You can approach the local papers for publicity. They are always looking for stories by women to print especially on the sports pages as generally sports are fo more interest to men. Why not offer a discount on a buy on e get one half price entry or bring a child for a pound/dollar something like that? Or include free food or burgers, or put on a women's match before the men's game?
