Children love to receive sweets like candies, cakes, cookies. They love it because of its color and its delightful taste. But you know that there are risk of overeating of sweets to children. It may lead to obesity, loss of appetite, malnutrition. It is one of the problems that a mother usually encounters and must give attention. How can we prevent or control our children for ingesting more sweets?

Simple just don't let them get used to it even in their early years. It's something that shouldn't be eaten everyday. My daughter is 3 years old and as much as possible I don't give her lollipops unless she is really craving for it. I don't buy bags of candies as well. We just buy it piece by piece from small stores in the neighborhood.

It is important to start kids off early eating nutritious and not giving them a lot of sugar. If they don't get it often, then they will not expect it often. I personally eat too much sweets myself. I just can't control myself, I love chocolate and sugar and anything that is sweet. However, I do really enjoy healthy food too, so I guess it balances out but I've been trying to be careful with my sugar intake.

Yes i agree. All things that is too much is bad. So, eat a balanced diet--- more fruits and vegetables that gives us much nutrients needed for our daily life. Thanks.

not wanting to deal with whatever the problem is

I strongly agree. One thing I have learned is that do not use candies as a reward. Because they might use to it and ask for sweets whenever they do good things. Thanks.

Hi jho_anne2426
Best thing is to cut it out, stop giving to the kids and try giving them fruits instead.

I think it will works. Since i have a problem in controlling him to eat sweets, I myself stop giving him candies. Today, my son is fond of eating apples. Thanks for your comment.
