it is normal that we develop something we don't usually have for a person because of love. we do things we don't usually do when we're in love. that might be the reason why when you love someone, you kinda develop a certain degree of respect for that person. of course, you want him/her to be treated just the way you see him/her, probably like a king/queen. i guess everything starts with love. just like when you feel loved, you develop self-respect and you see yourself differently because you know that someone loves you. just to add, i've also read from somewhere that the core values are love, faith, and hope so it is kinda weird if love grew out of respect. it's gotta be that respect grew out of love and not the other way around.
