Life is full of challenges. What was the greatest challenge you faced?

Life is so full of challenges and one keeps hearign of allsorts of achievement sby people under adverse situations. I am sure everyone has faced some challenge which has really tested their abilities in life. What has been your biggest challenge in life? I was a Non swimmer and a friend of mine who was a good swimmer and also took part in championships once teasingly dared me to a race in the pool. I swia dI do not know swimming but i would beat him one day. I started learning swimming and soon I was able to swim one breadth of the pool. I was lucky to get a good coach whow taught me a techique how to take breath while continuing to swim ahead and without actually coming up for breath after every stroke. I soon picked up teh technique and started improving. It took me 6 months to becoem a good swimmer from a non swimmer. i was determined to excel in this. Then there was a competition and i entered my name for the competition. my friend was also participating. He was over confident that he woudl beat me, but on teh day of the competition when i actually beat him,he was devastated. he just could not believe it. Since then he has stopped talking to me. That's down right sily of him but then he was taught a lessson on humility.
