Respond or make a discussion first?

what's the first thing you do when you open mylot? sometimes, i open mylot with nothing particuar in mind so what i do is i read discussions first and respond to those that interest me just to get my mind working. i get ideas from other discussions and sometimes i would remember something that i wanted to discuss and presto, i have a new discussion at hand. when i see new comments to my previous discussions i go there first and comment back if they need to be answered.
there are times i open mylot and do nothing but click and open pages. my brain gets so fried up and i just don't have the energy to start anything or comment to discussions posted. but, there are also times when i just go on and on posting because there's so much in my mind that i want to share. 0 response really dampens my day.

Same here, I usually do that as well. When I open mylot, I just scanned the discussions, from today's top to newest topics, to see if there are discussions that may interest me. If, however, I think of good topic that I may discuss, I'll start discussion. But nowadays, I'm more on responding than starting discussion, kinda having difficulty in thinking a good topic that I think will be interesting.

oh from my point of view ,i would make a discussion.
but many men ,many minds ,you know what ?when we have made a discussion before we response,we have more chance to have more commnet ,because we time is limit ,
so i think we,d better make a discussion before response, and some times i do not have much time on line so i just resoponse
god bless you

It's dizzying just trying to get a grasp of the messy interface and layout I see here. I typically have to wait over a minute for any page to load especially in discussions, even on broadband. I haven't a clue as to what other 1000 discussions are going on today, and it'd take me more than a day just to go through them!
I guess I browse it on and off and then just drop in whenever I see anything interesting. Will probably start some new discussions on the second day.

you'll get the hang of it after a while. it's quite easy, actually, although, i have to admit i'm not an expert here. haven't really maximized my mylot experience yet. anyways, as to the discussions it's easy sorting out which one interests you. the title should give you a clue.

if u are thinking of making some money alog with fun u need to follow a strategy here. before logging in decide how many discussions you will start and how many can u reply. u can do some offline work and take down topics tht migt strike a discussion. and when u open the page start discussions that you have noted down. it is good to always watch out atleast for 5 minutes whats hot topics and what kindah discussions got the maximum replies. and then always leave a reply atleast 3 lines long or its going to get u nothing. gud luck

i'm not that organized but that really is a good strategy. that way, you don't open mylot empty-handed. i don't take down notes everytime something struck me. i just keep it in mind and most often than not, i forget about it the moment it needs to be dug up...

I depends, often I come here following an email notification, so I'll reply to that discussion if appropriate. Then I'll either respond to some discussions or if I have a burning desire I'll start a new discussion.

First thing i do when i login to mylot is respond friends discussions. Then i will check all old responded discussions for comments. Later i will check my existing discussions and i will comment all the responses. And after that i will check few new discussions. Later if i have time or if it is weekend i will spend some time in selecting Best Responses and giving reputation points.
But about starting new discussions i will rarely start discussions may be 2 to 3 discussions per week. So doesnt require much time for that. Most of the time i will spend in MyLot by commenting and responding. I prefer comments so that i can keep track of discussions. Anyways You are doing great, I have sent you friend request if possible do accept it. Have a nice day.
Regards,
Jnk3dfx.

The 1st thing that I do is check the discussions that I started for responses, if there are any there- I try to acknowledge them if there is something to say besides "thanks" for me that's just a little overboard.
Then I look at no response discussions 1st- I hate for someone to not have any response and I like to be the first to respond- so that serves two purposes.
Then I just bounce around and see what there is to see and do. I enjoy mylot so its all fun for me. Great question by the way.

maybe you can comment on my discussions with no response. just kidding. yeah, i'd like to be the first to make a response too. that way, i know my response will be read and if the discussion needs an opinion, then mine will be take into consideration first. i hate to think that my response will go unread with discussions that generated tons of replies. the thing is, when i respond to a certain topic i do it wiht gusto coz it really interests me and i want to impart my experience or opinion.

I have to say that I do pretty much the same thing is you minus the making discussions part. Sometimes I come on and I look at the topics and like you I just don't know what to write or I'm just not up to it.
I usually open up and check the responses to responses that I've made lol and then I look at current discussions. I don't really make new topics but I've made a few that have gotten no responses which is kind of discouraging, well actually I got one lol. I can understand getting no responses to some of them that I started but not all of them. When I'm more up to it I'll start more topics though. I want to start a bunch of them when I know that I'll be able to repond to responses (if I get any) lol and right now with school I don't think that I would get time to do that.

I respond to my friends discussion alerts in my email first. Then I go to the site and scroll through the new and recent discussions and respond to ones that interest me. Sometimes it takes awhile to find something to capture my interest, so it's going to take me a long time to get over 200 posts so I can use the smilies.:(

I usually respond to discussions first as it is easier for me. I also get curious with what other people are asking and usually want to join in the discussion. At times I add new discussions.
