People are different over the internet true, but not entirely different. They might expose some of their features and hide some other. But a lot more can be learnt if you are in contact for a lot of time. As far as I'm concerned, there are some parts of my character that I have not exposed outside, but most of the times I'm the same on both the real and virtual world. bourne

online personas can be total opposites... especially when role-playing virtual characters... however, i have been told that I am a lot more open and talkative through online communication, and more of the quiet and shy type when meeting face-to-face...

It is quiete normal to act a bit different when not being exposed directly. People are more open, even me, but there isnt much differenc, I act online just like I act around people I know well, but you could see a difference when Im around people I dont know and when Im online. Online's give me some kind of a shelter I need when getting to know people, in RL i do it my self and takes more time for me to open, while online I can do it faster.
