Would you like to wear Nike or Adidas? Will you swim with the tide?

Last sunday, when I went to some training class, I found more 80% of the students wore either Nike or Adidas! I got weird somehow. But today even I bought a pair of adidas shoes and a Nike Jacket unconsciously. Confucius say, one who stays near vermilion get stained red, and one who stays near ink gets stained black! One takes on the colour of one's company is what it is. I don't know weather going with the tide is a good thing.

I'm too old to worry about name brand shoes. I wear whatever fits my wedge shaped foot.

I don't mean to buy them on purpose somehow! When lots of people do something around me, I can't help myself following them.
By the way, it is evening here! I lost my topic! lol
Oh, let me get down to business! My teacher forces me to sing a song in the new year party for the public! I guess I will wear the Nike things! At least, it is kind of better than some exposed clothes, which will be awkward to wear anyway. Lots of Chinese are very triditonal or orignal, me included! My parents educate me this way. lol
I guess this is the reason that some girls prefer wear casual clothes to some fashionable dresses. On the one hand, they are not that outmoded. On the other hand, they are not exposed!
I guess some westerners may find it hard to understand!
Have a great day!

This westerner found it hard to follow your comments. When you mentioned exposed clothes, did you mean clothing that expose a lot of skin, such as tank tops and short shorts? I'm pretty sure I understand traditional dress, but I'm not so sure about other terms. Did you buy Niki shoes, or a T-shirt with the Niki logo? Congratulations on being selected to sing in public.

When I wrote the commnet, I guessed that it might kind of cufuse your mind! I am really really sorry! Yeah, of couse. The Nike shoes are sport shoes with Nike logo. So are the clothes! These sprotswears are fashionalbe! But unlike other fashionable clothes, they are also traditional (no exposure). Yes, if someone wears some other fashionalbe clothes (dress like a model) especially summer dress, most of the time, the skin will kind of be exposed, which is awkward!

I do not use any of these, they are worth too much. I use reebok or converse, that are worth a lot too but not as much as adidas and nike.

Hi hiddedwing, I believe that Confucius was right, that one does take on the colour of one's company. I truly think that most people will go with the tide and I would likely have done as you. I don't think it really matters in things like this but in the larger scheme of things it is a different situation. We must not follow others when to do so would cause harm in any way. Blessings.

hi there~ yeah, many students on my class has the nike and adidas shoes, a part of them got the VIP card of an exclusive agency. Once it comes to the new editions, they go to buy it. A few days ago i bought a Nike shoes just because i encountered the discount day. lol.. i like adidas but most of the shoes i cant afford it. Personally, i think if you have the economic ability to go with the tide, its definately ok. But if with no sufficient money at hand, its better not to buy things too expensive.

When I buy something, comfort is the fist thing that I would consider. I do not see the point of buying and wearing something that is not comfortable just because I need to follow the trend or the crowd.
The second thing under my consideration would be the price. I would only buy something that I can afford and not having to buy on debt or on credit as what's the point wearing something expensive and yet I have nothing in my pocket except for the receipt showing the expensive purchase of what I am wearing.
The last thing I look for is the brand. Nike and Adidas have proven that they do quality products but if they are more expensive than Reebok, then I would go for Reebok as it is a well known brand too.
So, would I go with the tide. I do not think so and the only tide that I would get is the detergent under the Tide brand so that I can wash my jacket and shoes as well as the mouths of those who tried to make fun of me for not wearing Nike or Adidas.
Cheers!

Thanks for your great response. You are being reasonable. I did notice some beautiful Reebok Jacket. It was a pity that I ignored it on purpose!
